With the terrova you can still use the foot petal. I think it also has a power light on the troller head, and probably a few other luxuries that someone else will chime on about.;)
in was in the same boat if you buy a power drive and add copilot you wont be able to use the foot control if you buy the terrova and add i pilot you can use booth
I have only owned the Power Drive V2, both 12V and 24V, and they are great motors. I have only fished out of boats with a Terrova a very few times and they are also great motors. The biggest difference, to me, is the way the Terrova deploys and stores. Maybe Rawhide will speak up because he has a Terrova. Check out Hodges Marine Electronics - Marine FishFinders, GPS, VHF, Radars, and more! for pricing. Their prices are hard to beat.
The terrova has been hands down the best trolling motor I've owned. The next month where my teenage boy doesn't break me I'am going to order a I-Pilot. Tnt will tell you I'am the laziest fisherman around and the terrova has made me down right sorry......
I found this site today The Shopping Cart : Minn Kota Trolling Motors, MinnKotaMonster and priced out a RipTide SP w/ipilot and bracket for a good price....may want to shop on this site some...so far they are the cheapest I have found.....by the way....has anyone used the riptide? I do fish salt water some and really would like to be able to leave the T/M on the boat for the tidal creeks but have been taking off my PD V2 since it is not recommended for salt water use.....
Thanks Shine, but for terrova with 80lbs 12/24 us2 with ipilot cabeles has the hole thing for 1,229.99 60 dollars cheaper and ebuyerworld.com you mite want to check there price. again thanks Crappie-little
If youre getting the terrova wait until 2/15 before you order or buy so you'll get that $100 rebate.;)

Did you know you can have the shaft cut shorter if you do not need a 60 inch shaft?
It isn't much trouble and it will not void the warranty...Or at least on the Power Dreive V2 is doesn't. Jabbo did his that way and he called the manufacturer and they told him cutting the shaft shorter will not affect the warranty. But I would call them myself just to be on the safe side.
Yea, you better call 'em. When I called they told me the warranty would be voided (on a PD V2) unless an authorized service center done the work cutting the shaft. I bought mine from a service center and they charged me an extra $20 for cutting the shaft. I'd rather paid them since it wasnt that much instead of doing it myself.
Find a service center here (I'd recommend putting a 100 mile radius in):
Minn Kota Motors
I'd call a couple service centers and ask what they'd charge to cut a shaft after you get the trolling motor. You could still buy from anywhwere, I'd just let them cut it if I were you (then you'd KNOW the warranty was still good)....AND KEEP ALL YOUR RECEIPTS.;)
