Let's Talk Pearl White
I would like the forums take on this color. I mainly fish darker colored grubs and tubes for stained water. I know Bass love a white pearl Super Fluke, wondering if this is true on crappie. I am buying alot different types baits in this color to test this year, just have a good feeling about it for some reason.

My wife used to fish with me a lot when we were in Florida. We used a lot of Hal Flys for trolling and her favorite color was a white pearl with a red head and she did real good with them. I don't know how they would do in this muddy water we are having right now.

A couple of years ago during the fall my partner and i found a huge tree in 16ft while the lake was down. It was loaded with slab crappie and the only bait they would hit was a pearl tube jig. We fished this tree all way thru the winter with the same results. The next year they would only hit wally world color hot grub. Havent done well on that tree in years but it was a great spot in the fall. What I learned from this is have lots and lots of different colors.

Pearl or glow white and use "spike it" chart or orange on the tail works pretty good in heavy stain
-
i use alot of pearls in my hand tied jigs i jus know it works

I've never been a big fan of white baits I do remember pulling pearl white sassy shads a time or two but no great success.Let me know how it works out though.

I'm with you on white baits, Hightower.
I've got pearl white in my tackle box, and I try 'em every once in a while, but I ain't caught much with them. Guess it depends on how clear the water is.

I've had very good success with whites, but it has mostly been on lake blackshear...Everywhere else, it seems to be a striper magnet, which is also a success when the crappie just want to be stubborn :D Like DI said, Have every color in your tackle box...and variations of white are a must :)

It's my #2 color after chartreuse.
-
It's a great color on sinclair if you like the aggrivation of hybrids.
-
A freight train hybrid or striper is a spideriggers nightmare. Spaghetti junction what's your function nightmare because I use 12lb test. I know green carp are crazy about white pearl so it goes to reason the hybrids and stripers would also. I am hearing this is a good color to use at night around dock lights. Thinking about trying dock lights. I done it maybe a couple of times years ago so I'll ask this question. What color works consistently on dock lights?

Have cut them down to smaller portions and caught many trout in NGA.

I have never been a Pearl White lover for Crappie fishing. But those of you who were at the Slabfest at Talquin in December 08 probably remember how many fish my partner and I caught. 90% of them were on a Pearl White colored Panfish Assassin. I have alot of those left in my tackle box but I haven't had much success with them since that one day. But I usually have at least one out every time I troll.

Hope im not hi-jacking but was thinking while I was reading all of this,,,
Is it the color?, Water? Is it the what the fish want? Or is it just what you have more confidence in so you use it more...I know guys that swear by red and green, Guys that swear by pearl, in the same water??...Ive got all these colors in my box and still cant manage to catch a bunch of fish...
Im new so im still trying to figure this all out,,
Thanks,,
Puddle

White or Pearl are my go to colors when nothing seems to work ??? with white or red heads
-
I am not big on pearl white tube jigs, but I do well on a 1/16 or 1/32 hair jig in white with a flash of silver. And every know and then I will tip it with a minnow...
If the water is murky, I go straight to darker colors.

Back when I first started fishing Lake Oconee in the late seventies all I used were white jigs with different color heads and yellow jigs with different color heads. I caught more fish back then and I only used two colors. I use to have a 100 fish by lunch and I was heading home to clean them. Now I have more colors than I need but I catch less fish. I used 12 lb line in those days. I didn't lose many fish to the line breaking (LOL). Its funny two colors and 12 lb line and I use to wear them out back then. I guess we should be thankful for what we have now. We are still able to fish and see the beautiful sunrises that God has created.

i mostly fished with minnows for years . then i started using jigs some .i have read crappie magazine where most professional guides will say any color with chartreuse is good. depends on water color .never under stan why the darker water use darker jigs and lighter use lighter jigs. but who realy understand a crappie  i think if you find them and they are hungrey the will hit anything that mooves in frunt of them.if not hungry they might hit something that looks inteesting .
