dont get me wrong it looks nice but the price is high...that thing is more then tite-lok or driftmaster
Not to give you a short answer, but Chevys and Caddys aren't the same either. I have found that Driftmaster 4 pole ususally sell for about $90 and the Tite-Lok for about $125. I invented these, I make them, and I give a money back guarantee. So far, no one will even consider letting me have it back. Free installation, if you bring your boat or if I C U at the launch. Custom modifications usually at no charge. I'm not doing this for the money, I just want everyone to have the same advantage as I do. Anyway, thanks for the info. I always welcome any and all comments. :D:D
PS One of the pics is a 3 pole holder, he just took the 3rd off for the learning curve.
It looks like when you remove it you will have a stob sticking up from the base. The base appears to be mounted solid to the deck. Is that true? I have seen the TiteLoks at $99 for a 4 rod and the DM at around $110 for a 4 rod.
Yes, the base is attached to the boat with a 4 inch reciever. Usually this is mounted in an area where it is not in the way, like on the side. Or like in one of the photos, he has his on the side next to the drivers seat where he can troll with cranks and still have them handy, and in the other one, he has his mounted off center in the front. It doesn't appear to be in the way either, at least he said it wasn't. Thanks for the info.
i like the way the holders are but im with oldwin i dont want nothing sticking up from my floor...i have a 5yr and the last thing i need is somthing for him to trip over...if you could change the base deisgn they would be somthing i would really look at...i need to buy 4 sets of 4 rod holders right now and i like how yours holds the rod in but i like how Hi-tek mounts to the boat and only got a 1/8in plate once you take them out...
I have other bases that are flat on the floor, but most people wanted this style so they could adjust the height to suite themself. If I knew exactly the height you wanted, I can make them for you. It slides in the receiver and locks down with the same knob you see on the current receiver. I don't have a pic at this time, but will soon.
Thanks for the input.
These are a few pics of my boat with the three rod holders (I have removed one because I'm going to use only 4 rods while I try to learn how to pull cranks).

As you can see, mind aren't mounted on the floor but on the sides where I don't believe they'll be in the way at all. If you wanted to mount yours on the floor, I believe E-Z can adapt a plate for that.
These holders are extremely well built and I like mine a lot.
Everyone who looks at this contraption and who is a boad owner fishing in the trolloing mode should want two or three of these pole holders. Adapters for smooth floor mount should not be a problem. :)
Me in Oakland and fishing for Crappie on Enid Lake.
Rubin!!!! Nice To See You Made It To Crappie.com!!!!
I think you have designed some EXCELLENT looking rod holders, there. The feedback you get here should serve you well. The comments from some of these guys may well put you in a position to have a product that the others they have mentioned can't compete with.
Best of luck with your product!!!
For those that want a choice in receivers, I offer 2 selections. One where the height has some adjustment, or the riser can be cut off to a shorter length, if necessary. The other one is a flush mount where the riser has to be ordered in the specific height desired. Standard height is 20".
Thanks for looking:D
i really like that one on the right....now we are talking
Very interesting EZ. Look good and steady and height adjustment as far as I know is not an option on the commercial holders. Have you thought about inverting the base on the left and have a set screw on the upright? That'd give height adjustment and still retain vertical adjustment to some degree depending on the surface it's mounted to. Or if that's interesting, how about the base on the right but having the upright be a two piece that slides inside itself with a locking pin. Just a thought.
As far as the boo's on the price....seem reasonable to me and there's no reason why you shouldn't get what you want for them.
Wannabe...
I like the flush mount much better. Does the flush mount still have vertical adjustment. They do look pretty good to me. Pricing is in the ball park with the others. You have combined some nice features in your units. Good job!
I have made some like what you suggested and they are really great. I had them adj from about 12 to 20 inches. If there is enough request for that, I can certainly make them. However, they then get into the pricey area. My cost was about 10 more dollars, but they worked really great. Seems all my field testers liked the 20 inches as a standard, so that is where I started.
Thanks for the feedback.
However, I have one small suggestion for you. On the flush mount base model, to make it truly "flush-mount", you might consider counter-sinking the four (4) mounting screw holes to accept either a flathead stainless steel or brass coarse-threaded wood screw, or a fillister-head sheet metal or machine screw (depending upon the substrate). Those hex-head sheet metal screws are tough on bare feet and toes!!!
Just my $.02 worth!
Again, nice lookin' products, and competitively priced, I think!
Regards and tight lines,
Cal
how wide is that flush mount bottom plate?
Right now the flush mount base is 5X5 inches. Testing proved it was better to be that size for stability if you are pulling cranks. Stainless Steel screws.
Thanks
see pic.:D
Also, you can't tell it from these pics, but to remove the pole holder, you just loosen the knobs and it twist and slide from under the knobs. 3-4 seconds at the most. With additional flush mounting plates, you can move the holder in meer seconds from front to back, one side to the other, or wherever you decide to mount additional plates. I get $12 for additonal plates.
To store the pole holders, you remove the knobs and store with the holder. This leaves you with a flush mount plate with flush stainless steel screws.
Thanks for looking:D
new pics of the flush mount E-Z remove holder
Pics - By the way, once the Flush Mount Base is installed, no tools are necessary to adjust, remove or attach the Riser.
I didn't see the pictures. Help
so what type of discount do i get here?
you should let me pro staff them for you...i go to alot of shows and do alot of Seminars
all due repect, but at the price you are asking you are definately making some money off them.
they are nice rod holders and you should be making some money of them.
congrats on a nice looking product.
I bet you it has a lot to do the the small amounts of material and parts he is purchasing at this time. If he were to decide to purchase in bulk he would more than likely have a good profit margin. I can attest that he isn't concerned with his profit margin as of yet, and may never be. I purchased one 4 pole holder from him and he has been more than helpful. He installed it at no charge. He replaced my base with his new design at no charge. Heck he even thru in some jigs for me to try out. I am truely pleased with my purchase.
I'm looking to set my boat up, was set on bee ready or tite loc. was going to go with 2-4 rod and 2-3 rod. Pm me a quote on the package. I have one quote on the set -up. Your holders look pretty nice so shot my a quote.
I was using tite-locs (never tite and never locked) when I saw these rod holders on a boat. I got EZ's number and went by that afternoon to see him. He sold me 2 sets and they are heavy duty quality rod holders . They are EZ to adjust and stay where you put them. I have had them for over a year now without a problem or complaint. Well worth the money he is charging !!
