HB offficial ?

Can I buy a 998 main board only? I can change it out myself.

No Cand Pole, we don't sell components or PCBs. I don't know that the 998 PCB will plug up the same as the 997 PCB does. We didn't just copy the 997 PCB - it's a whole new design.

Pretty sure its the same display but heard the plastics had to be modified to fit the new connectors on the back and possibly the changes to the PCB.

Have you heard why Humminbird went from Jan 27th to "Mid-March" for the 998 release? Problems?

I haven’t heard a word about this but than that’s not the part of the company that I work in either. Since coming back from Christmas and New Years vacation I have been buried with training and safety related stuff (that’s my official job) and so have not been to any meetings to hear about this. I know that there are many people that worked some OT this last week (including me!). I’ll try and remember to ask about this during the Wednesday morning meeting.

It sure would make Cane Pole happy (and me too) if you had a "Donut" sticking out of your pocket at the wednesday morning meeting......just to symbolize to the HB higher ups.....uh...well you know...how us crappie fishermen hate the "donut"... :):)

Been busy

Sorry guys but we have some new folks start and since I am the resident trainer here I had class that week and last week too. Will miss this week as well it looks like. Only two more to finish the training up on so maybe I can get into the meeting next week – will have to play it by ear though as one of the new folks is out sick today – that’s the only reason I have the time to post here this morning.
