Harley, don't get me started on my Alabama jokes. Thats definitely some 'Bama technology if I've ever seen it. roflmoa Good vise!! And no duct tape, I'm impressed. You'll be happy with a new vise. Made my tying so much better. Keep after it, you'll get nothing but better.

Other day I packed up a toolbox with some tying material and planned to tie some flies on my lunch break at work. Got to work and realized I left my vice at home! :mad: Started looking around to figure how I could make a temporary one. I got a new rotary vice awhile back and love it, so my contraption had to rotate..... Took me about half an hour to make it, off the clock... yeah ;)... but it worked pretty darn good! Some wood, washers, nuts, and threaded (& bent) rods......

I shouldn't cut up about this. We all do what we need to do. I remember a post about someone that tied for a long time on a pair of vise grips in a bench vise. Work fine as long as it's held still. Those just struck my funny bone. Hope I didn't upset antone
I'd be willing to bet that no one was offended. As far as the vise grips, Thats what I did while waiting for a vise. I used a wood clamp to clamp the vise grips to a table.Quote:
