Hey Dave...Your gonna have to take your dad (me) to one of those hotspots up there as soon as the weather permits. I ain't been able to catch much since you moved. I guess you were bringing me good luck after all (or finding the fish!). I'm ready to get into a big school of those Pot-Belly Pigs your catching up there.
well i learned from one of the best, im ready when you are. i want us to get in on some of these river crappie and fill the ice chest.
Great trip, what time do you get off work !!
Great looking catch...even better looking little one in the first pic. she'll be hauling 'em in soon!
So where is it gonna happen this weekend Dave??? I know you have been scouting out a hot honeyhole somewhere full of fat slabs. Is it going to take light armament or heavy artillary to get them to bite?? Deep...Shallow....Jigs...live bait....fast....slow?? Come on, give me a hint!
i had a vision this morning so im taking the boat to work, i believe a fellow could do pretty good somewhere today so when i get off, im thinkin about going to the slack water harbor. if i do go i'll keep you posted.
Nice looking slabs there young man
Your nice looking daughter looks like 12 oz over the size of the slabs
Let us know if you do any good
I've been trying to contact Dave all afternoon to see how he was doing but no luck whatsoever! I just got hold of his wife and she said there was an emergency at work and he had to work over. He won't be able to give us a report on the fishing tonite. However, for those of you who are interested I just had a friend from Crossett drop by the house with a limit of large size slabs he got from Lake Monticello this afternoon. He caught them in the deep water just off the bottom with jigs. He knows I haven't been able to go in a few weeks and he just wanted to rub it in a little! I've been tied up with work, work, work. But the weekend ain't over just yet!!! Hope I get to go!
That's where Larry has been, I heard he was in Jones lake, hard to keep up with him. I guess I'm gonna have to get up there and try to catch a few of them slaps.
That's right Ben. It was Larry that came by the house a little bit ago with that REAL good limit. He didn't get a bite in Jones' Lake this morning OR at the river so he headed this way to fish Lake Monticello and nailed 'em. If the weather cooperates I may have to head that way myself this weekend.
Nce fat ones, got a good partner coming up.
Boy Larry sure knows how to catch em, i heard he had some heros. For those of you interested i didnt get to go like i had expected. when i pulled up to work friday morning the lights were off to the whole center! NCTR. We had 2 one inch copper buss bars blow in the switch gear and it shut down the sub station caused from moisture. Not counting that it was built in 1951 helped either, us maintenance have put in 29 hours or better trying to keep the generators running and feed with diesel. NCTR has millions of dollars worth of studies on animals that could be in jeopardy. Before i left this afternoon we were getting alot of the buildings back on line so when i go back tomorow maybe it will all be back on centerwide. I hope some of you had better luck this weekend.
