Beautifull is'nt it?San Carlos should be getting some water.Looks like the spring bite just might be doable.Mother Nature has a way to save things that are so crappie good.

wish we could sent some more your way, tired of it her in ga.
I wish that you could too slingshot. We've got the best crappie lake here in Arizona down to about 5% last I heard. It kills me.The Apaches use it to water thier cantaloupes.People here just don't figure that this is desert, always has been, and if they don't quit wasting it,always will get worst, year after year.State record flathead in that lake, and all the crappie that your boat can hold.
It's not a very big lake but is in a little higher elevation. It's mostly in the winter so,the oxygen level stays just high enough to keep them alive. The best crappie fishing around.Happened a few years ago with a fish kill. It's on Indian Reservation land.I think that we got enough in the last couple of days to keep it going again.Lots of snow in the mountains too.
Heck lets go fishing.I am done with this stuff.I am snowed in.

That's what I like to see.For you that is,lol.San Carlos and the rest of the lakes might just be "great" this spring.
elkman I don't know what I would do if I woke up to that. I live in the foothills of the mountians and we had snow the other day which turned to ice once it melted and couldn't get out of my neighborhood for 3 days. sure is nice to look at a picture of it.
Just think, that's an hour drive from me,lol.
AZslabber where are you at? I have a quad with a plow on it and its not doing much good on this storm.I was suppose to be in the valley on fri. I told the wife today is the day . I am digging us out come #%@^ or high water.I will let you know if I make it. Might have to hire some one with a tractor
That sure is beautiful to look at.......in a picture, from the warmth of my house :) There's a reason I don't live in MT anymore lol! I don't think a quad is gonna dig you out of that elkman. Nice pic of the elk BTW. It is cool the way the sunlight is hitting it. Elk meat is sooooooo yummy. Magnificent creatures. I saw some big ones this summer in the Whites.
I'm in Mesa watching it all,lol
i'm in the same boat as elkman, we 60 inches of snow, ( so they say) some places deeper than that others arent so deep, I hvae a quad too with a plow, but hired a snow plow to open the road up, i'm tired of this ****, and we got more snow coming on tues and wends
Well, get that stuff melted and into San Carlos, lol.I can't wait until April.I have a brother in law coming out from Pa. for a week of crappie fishing there.
It took us 3 hrs to shovel outand the 1hr with the quad .We made it to the valley on sat.
Dick it will all be worth it come a month or 2.See you on rosey.
everyone getting excited about san carlos, but after those low lake levels , it may not be as good as it was, hope i'm wrong, but usally after a drop like that, it takes it toll on fish populations,
Wishfull thinking Dick.Just would like to see the lake get what it needs.
I've never fished SC before so I am hoping for the best as well. I'd like to try it out this year.
Don't expect too much from SC this year fellas. The lake was down to below 2% and even with the rain we've got, it still needs about 25' more below last years spawning ground is even wet. With the lake so low many smaller crappie are probably being eaten by flatheads and large bass.
When full (only has happened 3 times) SC in a huge lake at over 19,000 acre feet. If the lake where to fill to last year's level (around 30%) in time for a good spawn, it will be a mess of floating debris for months. My hope is that it will get enough water to hold over for next year. That is, if the dam (which is rated the worst in the US) can hold it.
