I know it's not quite time YET but it's creeping up on us fast. Got to find some for me and Nessa. Oh, I will not sue a stringer due to a Snake issue I had a few years ago but will one of those baskets with the floating tops work fine?

Coleman.com see if they have any left. They bawt out hodgeman I think and had em all on speshul!!
Floating basket is the way to go. As far as waders, I've had expensive and cheap ones. Now I only buy cheap ones, they all end up leaking equally. Neoprene for comfort.
It'll be a few weeks before I can get any though. Just getting my ducks in a row for then. Thanks for all the input guys
Stocking foot neoprene with wader boots are the most comfortable. I got both kinds and will never buy anything else. You actually get boots that fit and feel good that way. Just go to bass pro and try em on and then order from cheaper web site.
I saw these on Craigslist after I read this post. Looks like a great deal but you may have to wear an extra pair of socks.Bone Dry Waders RedHeadThey look like they will most likely fit any shoe size:D
for use around this place I would go really tall, really thick, and very well insulated. Also make sure they hose off easily.
After surveying for a few years, I kinda got a fear of ME No Shoulders now. he don;t like me and I don;t like him
Ain't but one good snake, that's a DEAD ONE. I've STEPPED on 3 cotton mouths and a few more snakes that I have no idea what they were and I hate them. We killed over 30 ONE DAY cutting a survey line. Had them falling out of the limbs, off the banks and swimming all over that swamp. Tried to kill every one of those suckers
You can get by with the 3.5mm neoprene jobs as far as insulation goes. You'll get chilled at times, but more often than not, a little later on you'll be sweatin bullets.
Don't think you're gonna have much luck finding them in your size this year though DD. I heard tell the mfgs. were all discontinuing the gewber sized ones. Might just have to run each foot in a wonder bread bag and zip tie 'em as high as they'll go.
Wannabe...
they're using the gewber size. They won't have to sue but a 3 inch square section
Now you've opened a new can of worms. What do you need the waders for?
Maj....during the spawn when the fish are shallow and up in the trees and bushes....you need to get out of the boat and wade and fish all that cover with a jig pole.
Maj....next will be the scuba gear that we use sometimes when the fish go back deep. :D
Creek you are sooo right about the spending part.
You're where I was lat year at this time, just getting into things. You'll see what we mean about spending. Keep up with what all you buy and how much you spend on all of it for the next year and give us the total Tab on it.
I started out with a Garmin FF, bout 150 bucks and now I have a Lowrance 520 C with GPS and that 997 SI. Then the poles. Pulling crank poles, trolling jig poles, Jigging poles. Jigs and bodies in 1/64th, 1/32nd, 1/16th, 1/8th and a few 1/4's for alot of current and wind. New tackle boxes for each different thing you buy. Ya GOT to have atleast 75-100 Cranks at 4 to5 bucks a pop. Then 1, 2 and 3 oz weights. Braided high vis line and mono HV line. on and on it goes bud so BE READY:D
Thats gonna leave a mark MM
How do ya'll store/carry them? Clear plastic boxes with the dividers?? What?? Pictures please. Thanks.
Dadgummit Maj :)....You got the thread off topic....and I even had to moderate myself. :D The subject of this thread is about chest waders....not crankbaits and ways to store them. Lets all make a effort to keep the threads on subject...Thanks. Now ....we can either go post about the cranks in the Pulling crankbait thread....or we can start a new thread.
What can I say...I am guilty too dadgummit. I wacked my own Peepee too. I did start a new thread....Storing and Organizing Crankbaits. This will be a lot better once we all get used to it....it will make it easier to go back and find things.
I heard that you were good at whacking your own PP. HEHE. Minner. Let me give you a tad bit of advice. Don't ever mess up cause I GOT YO NUMBER my man. Pay backs are heck
I couldnt help that one DD. It was way to easy. I even patted myself on the back fer that one.:p:p
Now to get this thing turned around and headed back in the right direction before I get my PP whacked, Neoprene is the way to go. As fer storing crank baits............................................. ....................................:p:p:p Stick em in you neoprene waders Maj. They'll hold em real good.
