Murray Boat Show

Anyone going to the Murray Boat Show. Jan. 22/23/24-2010
West Kentucky Boat & Outdoor Show - Murray, Ky

I'll be there!

Count me in, probably be sunday before I can go.

Me and my son will be there.

This is the first thing that I have heard about it and I live in Murray. :eek:

I knew that it should be coming up soon.

Just got back from the boatshow not much there.

I went.. it sucked unless you wanted to buy a pontoon boat. It was actually the worst so far as selection of boat styles that I have ever been to. I was really surprised that there were a couple of local dealerships that had nothing there at all this year.

There was more there in the way of cosmetic jewelry and non-boating/fishing related junk than there were tackle vendors.

I went for one reason on Sunday...a guy was giving a seminar on shellcracker...it was worth it since it was free.

That's what I went for on Saturday night too and I didn't learn anything.

Anybody that has ever thought about fishing for redear already knows what he told. Find gravel, sand and or snails and you will find redear during the spawn.

Earth shaking stuff there.

That's akin to saying find yourself a brushpile during the spawn and you will find crappie.

Yeah I did learn a few things to try this year, but I already knew about 80% of what he said. One thing from the show that I will be trying this year is the sidescan mapping software. I plan to buy one area soon and get some coordinates in my GPS before spring.

He showed me some bluegill beds on some at the show. Were you able to find any on yours?

I haven't looked that closely.

Did he have the new sidescan or was it still his original? He told me that it would be a while before he used the new unit on BR, so I bought the old toward the end of last summer.

I guess it was the new because the price listing showed a cheaper price if you already had BR. I'm not looking to buy BR though, I have some other honey holes I fish :D.
