Looking at linking two birds together and I know that I have to buy the system link, but my question is do I need to buy the system cables? Or do I have enough cable on the fishfinders just to hook them to the link unit?
Thanks,
Lynn

You should have everything you need.
Thanks guys!
Just a reminder probably aware but make sure you use 2 GPS pucks wired direct to units --meaning not just one to interlink so you can take advantage of new GPS upgrade---other wise you will be stuck with SLOW GPS forever....
Well Joby had posted a drawing but I can not find it, its buried somewhere in one of these Si posts???? Its stuff like this we should be making a sticky of but I forget to ask.
I save this kinda stuff.....
Cane you a good man:D:D:D:D Thanks
I save that kinda' stuff too there Cane Pole. I just can't find it later! Hope this ain't too personal, but is "Cane Pole" short for "Bamboo Stick" ?? :D :D
What's the deal with this "Interlink Choke Cable"? Do I need to get 2 of them and if so, where do I get them? Right now my 997 is connected to the reciever thru the Interlink but it is the only 1 using it.
The chokes are for just filtering noise.
Are these common mode chokes? What seems to be the most hazard EMI/RFI frequencies?
If everything is hooked up this way then the interlink needs no other power? Mine is not working for some reason.
I don’t save that kinda stuff… I drew that kinda stuff! :D
The Choke Cables are only needed if there is RF interference from the trolling motor. We started packaging them with the Interlink around July of last year. They take the place of needing to wrap the InterLink connection cables around the ferrite rings if you have trolling motor interference.
Wiskers, with the GPS connected to your unit through the InterLink you are not getting the faster GPS update speed that Jaxsprat is talking about. Do you have just the one unit and move it from the console to the bow or does it stay only at one location?
Callshy, The InterLink draws its power from whichever units is powered up first. This is nice in that when you turn you units off the InterLink is no longer drawing any power (and draining your battery).
