Sloedown- that'll definitely catch em- the hackle feather tail will look alive and the colors scream baitfish
My favorite colors,Very nice crappie getter.
If you don't catch them on that . MOVE there ain't no crappies there.
I would have the utmost confidence in that jig.
you'll have no problem catching fish with that jig .
Nice jig. Color head is that? Its purdy.
It is a a color i made. Very hard to make. 1 part black and 1 part white. SHAKIN NOT STIRRED (FOR REAL)
Don't put the rod down. I tied one very similar a few months back, but used maribou and had to dig it out of the far reaches of their throats (if Crappie have throats) to get it back. Waaaaaaaay deep. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised and might have found one of your "go to" baits. Nice work.
That will work for sure, one of my favorites for clear or lightly stained water.
looks like a minnow to me
Looks like a slab catcher!! I like those colors.
Thanks for the compliments. I'm learning................
You'll catch fish with that jig my friend!!! I guaaarrrraannnteeee!
Some of my fav colors for crappie. Very good tie! Keep on tying!!
I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict.....that won't be the last one of those you make;)
Great lookin' jig!

The image had been moved or deleted....with all of the compliments it rec'd, would love to know what it looks like and how it was tied.

Thanks Skeet! Just got into jigs...and since I had tying materials around am anxious to tie my own jigs and this helps. I've done my first few on long shank jigheads, so I am going to have to get some short shank heads with sickle hooks it looks like. Just got my chenille in from Grandpa Bob's...had black in my cart and took it out...seems I need it and powder blue. Thanks again.
It's a good thing I don't live in TN because something tells me there won't be any crappie left before the year is over with.
This is a great jig pattern it can be tied a number of different ways. Painted gray head a little red or black in the tail maybe a long tinsel attractor on the tail. Shad gray kip tail or marabou doesn't make any difference white with black body or silver tinsel, paint on eyes or not. Still one of the best of the minnow patterns. It is my understanding that this is the #1 pattern in southeast Louisiana and south west Mississippi. and is one of my goto patterns and getting to be my favorrite this time of year.

Skeet I think you are pulling our leg. I see that by your fishing regulations most of the state has a 15 crappie limit if I read it right. But down here in Texas we can catch 25 but we have a lake limit where I am at of 10 inches long. Don't think that you guys are as rookie as you want us to beleive. Hear that ya'll just go out and can catch a limit in a half a hour. With a Gray Ghost it's like 15 minutes. Fishing must be great in Tennessee.
