bolt do you use on your Ram Mount? It doesn't come with Bolts so I need to stop by Lowes and pick some up along with some 18 gauge wire
Mounted mine to the RAM with 1/4 X1 bolts , washers and lock nuts. Mounted the RAM to my console with the same.
thats what I came up with when I measured it, you just comfirmed it. Preciate it. 4 bolts each on the Ff to mount and the mount to boat
Hey Don. If your console is thin material put a piece of plywood behind it when you mount. The heavier units will wear out the hole over time and become loose.
a thin 1 1/6 inch piece of sheet metal and put it on the back side for support. Didn't know that big RAM mount weighed 2 1/2 pounds or so
on the side wall of the boat? Bout center of the console but NOT to the console itself. On the actual side wall of the boat IF there is a way. If there is a problem, about where should I mount it?
Mount it on that big friggin console ya gewb! ;)
U B Aite with a backing plate. Don't use steel though, aluminum. Also, some rubber backing would help spread and cushion the load. Metal will have contact over much less area since it won't conform. Think about slicing up an innertube - that kind of material.
Wannabe...
3/4" plywood with big rubber washers. Both absorb shock and last forever.
Just hate they forgot to put my RAM mount in the box for my 520. OOPS when I called them but I'll get one at Bass Pro for it
