How exactly do you powder paint a threaded body? Wouldn't the thread and tail material burn when heated?
Did I leave out some information ? :D no the thread does not burn nor does the material on the tail.
But I did leave out this "little" detail.
You do not cure the powder paint in the oven. Because of the thickness of the paint you would have a mess. We put clean vinyl coat over the body.
I heat my gun to 450 to apply powder paint. Will post more pictures of these jigs in the future.
Give it a whrill, you will enjoy making these jigs:rolleyes:
wow vey neat idea snake how do they hold up?
JJ
Nice jig,definitely different.
They are indestructible! They would last you forever (unless you catch a big tree!)
What colors would you like to see? PM me your address and I will send you some samples and you can see how indestructible they really are.
What size would you like?
look forward to hearing from you again.
Bob

Thanks for all the good complements. Yes they are very time-consuming to make these jigs but I enjoy every minute of it .
An interesting application of powder paint. I like your creativity SR.
pup I enjoyed making those type of jigs you can do many wonderful things by wrapping the thread such as different body shapes. In the future we will try to post some new body designs doing so I will be posting some more pictures of this jig and the future we call this jig Powder River jig series 40.

Bob, you are something else!! Who would have thought it possible to put
powder paint on thread? But you've done it!! You are truly innovative!
Great pics and good looking jigs. Keep up the good work and especially the
innovations!!!
crappiekiller3 thank you for your kind words we enjoy experimenting with everything I come in contact with especially when it comes to making jigs. You never know what I may come up with:eek:
It's different. I can get a similar look by painting a tube head and adding kip tail. Still, your concept is very creative.
shipahoy41 yes I know all about the tube had jig I believe that originated from me.
