Thanks folks. it took a couple of tries to get the stuff to lay down. I didn't know that it would flair out so much when i cinched the thread down on it. Pretty happy with the outcome though.
They look good....I got several deer and squirrel tails split with borox on them drying out now...gonna try to tie some jigs.
I have a time getting the deer hair to do anything BUT flare, but I did some thing a bit different on a few and it changed the profile some. Start them same as usual but start right behing the head and draw em tight, tie a half hitch, and begin to work your way back slow and not as tight. This gathers them a bit tighter and narrows the profile. Work your way back forward and and finish close to the head and coat with sally hansen. I use a heavy thread to tie these.
