I have 6 of them 2-12'er and 4-8'er. I use them for long-line trolling. They are some tough rods if you get the graphite.
I have a couple of Pinnacle reels, pretty good quality at a real good price. Haven't tried their rods, though. You should get some better responses from others on the site.
Have used there medium action ones for salmon fishing and was very pleased with them
bought eight ten footers before i got my long rods from monks crappie. for the money, can't beat them.
i have some from monks crappiethey catch as many as the wally marshall or the bnm
There are great poles for the money, get with Monk.
crappie cowboy

They are a good value for the money. Order a few and see.
Did a search for Silstar rods on Monk's site and didn't come up with anything!
MaggiesMaster,
Go to Monks and click on Rods, Poles and Reels, then go down to the 17th line and click on Selstar Limit Siries Crappie Rods.
This is the direct link. I haven't ordered any yet. It's probably gonna be after Christmas, but I am gonna get some of em.

Which would you recommend for a slip bobber and minnow rig?
Yes, they sell them individually. I believe they are $12.50/piece or 4/$50.00. I don't own any but a buddy has them and they fished with Monday and they did a fine job hauling in those babies. I have wally marshalls but if I broke em' all I would go buy 10/12ftrs for $120.00. You can't beat it.

Fishmannyj. Don't know that I would want to hold one of those babies all day. Gonna make you mesirable. I would order a Buck's B&M Jig Pole in the 11ft model from grizzlyjig.com for $21.00! They are on sale as we speak. For the money, you can't beat it. Pretty lightweight rod. Call em' and talk to Lance or Louie....they know there stuff, nice too.
