Anybody know what the going rate to build a house right now a square? And when they say x per square, does that include the garage assuming it's not heated nor cooled?
OK, so sue me, it was two real questions.

Are you the general contractor? If so, you'll save around 20-30%. Alot of headaches though. As far as price per square foot, it just depends on how extravagant you want to go. Anywhere from $75-$110 a square foot depending.
is around 100-120 and like Speck said, depends on what ya want
I saw a Crappie camp for sale near Holiday Lodge for $6000.00 the other day. If IS has finally decided to rid herself of you, this will prolly be your best option! She ain't gonna leave you with enough to build a new house! Bwahahahaha!
And that IS the truth if I ever heard it
That's weird......Speck gave a straight answer. Hoodathunkit. Then, DD followed up with a real answer too. Hoodathunkit squared.
Did the earth just tilt off it's axis or sump'n?
I keep hearing right now is the time to build - hungry builders, cheap materials and I keep having people throw out 50 to 75 for builders grade and 75 - 85 mid grade. Makes me go hmmmmm.
Saw that camp Feelay. Is was all over it till I showed her a pic, then she was out and sent me the text about the fishfinders. I guess she thought she'd distract me with the cheap shiney object. She don't know the camp could be cheaper does she.

My step-daughter and her husband built one about 6 months ago for about 85.00 a foot but he was the general contractor.
I would look at one of those motor homes, in the 300-400 thousand range ,go fishing and take your house with ya.
WB, building materials have gone down a little from this time last year but cheap is still not the correct word to use here. I have actually thought about building something so I did some checking here a couple of months ago and if you hire a contractor it is 90-125 per square and around 70-80 if you do your own homework. If you do your own homework it will save you lots of money on the house but the bill for your headache medicine goes way up.
A'ite now.....It keeps getting stranger and stranger around here. Yesterday it was DD and Speck, now Triton pipes in with a straight answer. I believe the earth is off it's axis and now spinning backwards.
Triton, I could wire the fishfinders and GPS to the house with no problem. Maybe install a speedometer and a tach and repack the bearings. You think that'd save me much?
