I'd think you'd be better off with 5 gal buckets and concrete with boo that tall.
Yes as long as you don't put in so much boo that it won't sink at all.
Guys thanks for the info, was raised on Rayburn and have been fishing it for crappie for 50 yrs on and off but never baited holes so it has always been hit and miss. guess i had more luck under the 147 bridge than anywhere else.
Yes, the concrete block with quick crete will do you right. We sunk some nice ones this last year and have enjoyed fishing them.Got to tie you some floats at the tops though.2 litre bottle, milk jugs with lids on, etc, but they will stand for a good while.I may get someone mad at me here for saying this but going to anyway.I think something like draggin chains and drifting causes some structure to get damaged.I think that alot of lake cover gets messed up that way but thats just my opinion.I know I have some of my condos that are in more active areas just basically destroyed and others in similar water depths but less active areas it looks just as it did when I put in...Thats the only explanation I have for it.Attached is a picture of some creek cane/boo in some concrete blocks.Keep them tied till you get ready to sink them then untie them and tie up a float to the tops and you are in business.........Me and the guy in the picture won a tourney off the very stuff in the pictures two weeks after sinking these condos. Good luck to you :D
thanks a bunch, i will probably be building these by myself and it just looks a litte easier than the 5 gallon jugs filled with crete. is 2 milk jugs per side enough float?
We used 2 litre bottles, and used 2 with each block, one tied on each side but tied way up high in the boo now. :)
Bamboo doesn't need any "floats" added to it.
bamboo dont need floats because they have air in pockets.
Here is one that I made and it is 15' tall and I do add a jug in the top just in case someone hangs the top and pulls it over it will come back upright....

Christmas is much easier to sink and I add a jug to the top just in case...

How much weight does it take to sink that many boo together? A single cinder block will do?
