What does everyone use to tie on Cender Blocks to a tree? Rope or Wire?
Wire for me, last longer
Nylon rope will last for ever...... and that is a long time...
I used old copper wire from torn down buildings with the plastic on it. Usually 3 wires in each piece you seperate. It lasts and does'nt hang hooks like rope.
I use electric fence wire...doesn't rust.....
Electric fence wire. If current is there, rope will chaff in two. CF

A heavy logchain. :) Somebody always gotta be different.Just kiddin. I would think whatever a man had without havin to buy would be good, however I would use just the slick wire, like elect fence wire personally.
Wire if I have it...rope if I dont.:o
I would not be telling people about using copper wire, someone may follow you and pull up your structure to steal the copper from it, getting bad these days ya know lol
duct tape
superglue...lol
Mississippi will only allow us to sink condos with cotton cord or rope.
No plastic or wire.
That copper wire your using isn't good for fish.
Cut a 1" piece and put in an aqurium (sp). See how long the fish live.
Working at a seafood resturant in the past. People would place coins in the aqurium (sp) and lobster tank. Dead creators in the morning, everytime.
Zinc coated wire isn't much better.
If I were to use wire, it would be alum. or stainless.
I had always just used nylon trotline twine. It's plenty strong enough to hold a cinder block and will last longer than the trees. But, now I do it the lazy way like one of the previous posters. I order 36" zip ties online and use those. That also allows me to use just about anything to weigh the tree down. I use oblong shaped rocks that I find on the bank a lot of times. Clamp them tight to the tree trunk with those big zip ties and they will stay.
There are a lot of old chicken houses out of operation these days. I have used the nylon cord they used to raises and lower the curtains. really strong lasts forever. Free!!!
