CK3, you got too much time on your hands. Nice shop for sure. I'm trying to figure out how to put all my junk away before I let it get out of control. I can already see there's lots of stuff to cover the different colors and patterns. I saw a secretary style tying desk that will probably do well for me, with an extra set of drawers next to it. Just a couple o rods, eh?
-
Holy cow!!! And I thought I had the fishing bug bad..... I most certainly do not think so any longer.:eek::eek: Only thing, with all the work to do, I sure hope you have enough time to get out to use some of that equipment on the water.
-
nice layout ,are you selling the rods looks like they have tags
-
Answer to all questions
Fatman.......Nope haven't got the zonar mold, thought about it as we use
ZIPS a lot in Lake Wisconsin.
G3..............Shop is in the basement, 1 of four rooms in basement.
Empty nest syndrome:D
Attica..........Actually, I do get out to use the stuff although most of the
rods are done thru out the year and I have a garage sale
once or twice a year.
dedawg.........as mentioned above I have two garage sales per year.
I also build the racks they are in. the ones in the pics
hold 30 rods each. I also build them in 8, 12, and 16.
For the sale I have extra racks and just take the rods
up to the garage.

I've been doing rods since 1964 so they do tend to pile up! I also have 30 rods upstairs the wife and I use for fishing.
The whole trick to organization is PEGBOARD!!!!! I've been called pegboard king, pegboard nut, and others I would not mention here!
Pegboard and those 20-60 drawer cabinets.
-
Amazing, you are very well organized.Much more than I will ever be.
-
That is a tyers dream room! My wife wishes we had a basement like that. I think shes tired of marabou and feathers floating around the office!
-
Gotta be careful
We do have to be very careful about maribou and feathers. The wife also
works with glitter and fuzzies. We vacumn at least once a day and often more as building rods and working with feathers and glitter do not go well together:D
-
My goodness
Well guys I don't think I feel bad anymore.

Looks like you have it organized pretty well.

more stuff
You're right Skip, I do need more stuff. but I'm gonna need to find another wall somewhere first! I find it's a lot easier to work if everything is at hand
and I don't have to stop and look for something. Hope you're feeling better!

Thats a nice setup right there.I have to keep my stuff in closets and in tubs under the bed and out in my shed.I can only imagine how much easier it would be to tie something if everything was hanging right in front of you.Nice job organizing it all.
-
Thanks Steve

Thanks Steve! I realize I'm fortunate to have the room. When I was younger
and didn't have room I made do with what I had. Now that the kids have moved out I have more room than I really need.

LOL mine piles up into little mountains of scrap marabou and 1-inch pieces of chenille... that :o cracked me up! You should look into one o them thar wooden tv trays. That's what I used before I moved up in the world and moved to a tiny, all-bills-paid, furnished apartment... comes complete with a tying table!!
