Just talked to Dan. He said it is only 1 ft above normal, and it is running off. He said one guy got a limit in the rain yesterday, and there were about 6 out there now.
I will be there this afternoon.
I love the pond after the first major pushes of fish have moved into the pond from the creek, like right now. Big rains push that many more into the ponds calmer, clearer, and deeper waters to avoid the muddier and faster current waters of the main creek channel. Fishing is good after a big rain and gets to be great two or three days after a big rain. You can also mop up along the banks verticle jigging the pads and along the banks of the pond and around the slack water areas of the Iron bridge, as the high waters push more fish shallower. Go Get Em, they are there.
if I can get my work done
Went to visit DANO today to check out the scene. I will be there in the morning provided I can get the boat out of my water-logged back yard! Hopefully, I won't get my truck back there too!
See everyone in the morning around sun-up!
Well, I had plans on going in the morning as well, but Shimmy, it sounds like you won't need a boat. That dang pond is small enough that I think you can just walk across it tomorrow with all the boats that will be there.:D
If i get there, it will be later in the day. My wife has 'plans' for in the morning.
Well wouldn't you know it - truck got stuck trying to back up to my boat :( Had to fire up the ol' 4x4 blazer to pull it out! Looks like my plans are a warsh! Maybe DANO can hook me up with a loaner tomorrow.
Anyhow, DANO if your reading this I'll check with you early tomorrow morning on this site to see if you have a boat for me.
Shimmy

LRJoe1,
If the guy that caught the limit in the rain was fishing thursday we all need to find out who he was and give him an award. Man it poured here all day in SW AR that day.
Last spring at the Crappie Camp on Greason the lake was really high and some thought that in the upper reaches of the main channels the oxygen content was lacking. I know with a rise a lot of the time you can hit those creeks and really catch the Green Carp so I figured it would be the same with the Crappie, but I got suprised and caught nothing in those areas last Spring at the camp. I think the only folks caught anything were fishing condo's and catching suspended fish.
