I only need 1780 more feet of line to get after them...... good job........:)
Anyone seen my hat???? Oh ya the wave before this one took it off!
Just in case you wondered what I was reeling in when I lost my hat!
That's pretty awesome Tom. So what does that fish eat like? How much meat will you end up bringing home?
Again, nice job. Looks like a blast.
Oh one other thing..........How long did it take to land him?
That fish eats so good I may have to go to the hospital to have my stomach put back in place. It is great grilled, fried, and blackened. There is a place next to where we are staying that will cook it for you. I am not sure of the exact weight of the meat but we have a couple hundred pounds. That fish weighs over 100lb's and I caught 3. The market value of that fish is over $1000 dollars. I am not sure how long but I would guess 50 minutes.:D
I should have told you the first photo was taken by a professional and the next time you see it, it will be in Sport fishing magazine. I hope to get all the photos and some of them are incredible. If I get them I will post a few of the under water shots, they are awsome!
Great job! Looks like your were fishing on stockton today!
Congrats on the swordfish and the spot in the magazine.:) Looks like fun although I dont know how well I could have done on 7' seas.:o
Swordfish steak makes a very fine meal. I enjoy it emens.....emence.......a lot!
I knew those were ocean highbred crappie, but i don't think i would want to fight those kind of waves for them.
Sweet Deal Pole.
Glad we can live vicariously through your offshore fishing.
I hope to get to the ocean again within the next couple years for some big gamefish and snorkeling.
G.
Those waves kinda look like what we fished Saturday at camp on LOZ. At least they looked and felt like that to me.
PB, thanks a great deal for sharing, that's legendary stuff there. You'll have Silversides thinking he needs a fighting chair in his boat.
fighting chair for OSS? Maybe a fighting recliner:p
Great pictures Tom.....that has to be a blast!!
WTG, Bender. Looks like a lot of fun!
Wow! Nice job Bender, those are some great pics. Stockton might be a let down for you now!
Shooooot! I've caught bigger crappie than that Tom!!! I remember back in the fourties I used to catch Crappie that were 150 to 175lb all the time.... as a matter of fact the best bait for them was about a thirty pound swordfish! Took a big minner bucket though.
The big crappie have all but disappeared though.
Pretty nice bait there Tom......How many times you barf? I always have to barf at least once before I can get started fishing on the blue water.
CONGRATS on the awesome fishies....Black and chart?
Thanks guys that was probably a once in a life time deal and may never get to do anything like it again but is was a blast!
Sorry Slab Tech no barfing out of me! To much going on to think about it! I got to hear a bunch of stories about Hemmingway's fishing adventures from a guy who fished with him. We were less than 40 miles from Cuba and got to hear how a 500lb sword pulled them within a few miles of Cuba one night. I got to see Hester reel in a 300lb Sunfish and it is the only time anyone ever heard of one being caught on rod and reel.
