Good deal Joby! Thanks for posting. Any idea the range of model numbers
this will cover? Mainly 787 and 797 I'm interested in ;) :D
Thanks Humminbird. Looking forward to the fix. And the new down imaging!
Dayton
thanks joby and humminbird still the best electronics in my opinion
Will this download work with our older GPS antennas (GR16 channel) also or just with the new (50) style ant? and will there be a big difference in how well it will work with these ant.? So,it may be worth getting the new hi accuracy antennae? It sure would be nice hearing from you or someone who has tested this out. Like does it keep the directional arrow pointing in direct of your travel without going bananas? at slow less than 0.05 mph? Like does it know where it is at? Sorry for all the Questions but I have had about 4 years of bananas.:D
Yes it will be nice to try some apples or peaches after all those bananas:D
Don't hold me to it because I am suppose to be on vaction this week, but if I am not mistaken it should cover all models and it will not have anything to do with what type antenna you have. The key is having the GPS antenna hooked either directly to the unit or to a Y cable. The rest is done in the unit. I have tested it on the trolling motor going from one waypoint to another and I did not have a problem. It is pretty smooth.
Thanks Joby & HB
thanks
Hell (may have) froze over!
Thanks for the answer Joby.
Haven't got to use mine much yet but this is good news. Looks awesum.
Well, assuming this updates solves the problem, I think we all need to send Joby a dollar each for all the feces he's had to put up with from us. :) Bad timing though on the release, he prolly could have used it for his vacation.
Thanks for the heads up Joby, If nothing else, H'bird is far superior in being willing to speak directly with the consumer on forums such as this. That's worth a bunch all by itself.

canepole is going to be almost completly happy with Hummingbird now. This is going to be so strange. :)
Come on, who are you kidding. Tom has more angles the a trihectohexacontagon and the forum just wouldn't be the same. LOL

Wiskers,
Yes you will need to change how your GPS Receiver is connected to get the faster GPS refresh rate. The InterLink cannot support this (the data is being transferred on a different set of data lines when using the InterLink).
Shine Runner,
This will affect the Internal GPS units as well - they will update at 4x per second as well (I don;t think anyone else's does this...).
I’ve heard that this will be released before the January Down Imaging software.
Hey, is it getting colder in here…? :D
Greg Walters at Humminbird
Does this mean the Interlink can't be used, or will it just need a change in how it is hooked up?
For the 4x per second update the GPS Receiver will need to be connected to a unit either directly or if you have an InterLink; through the AS-YC cable.

Sounds Good. Guess Canepole will get christmas this year.:D
Looking forward to all these updates. Guess I will have to update my matrix 97 with this also.
Pete
I like that 4x's a second- sounds good- as opposed to what 1x per second we have now. This could/should make it worth (for me) to get the high accuracy antenna.
Holy chit!!!!!!!!!
Holy Cow!!!!!!! Humminbird even got the spammers excited.
I am really looking forward for the update Pete. If it works, well, I might have to get another HB.;)
I'll take the old one!:D
Let us know when it's available.
Not to complain, but will this new firmware release/revision by any chance fix the cursor problems when using the cursor to explore the maps. When exploring, every time I get to a cluster of waypoints, the cursor just has to stop and pause on all of them (kinda). I presently cursor via land to get to another location on the map.
I await patiently.
CP,
I have not heard of anything like this being changed.
Is there and estimate on when the GPS refresh update will be available?
Wannabe...
Oops!
The Cursor Button will be better and the Gps Refresh Rate and the Three new side imaging color palettes and one new 2D color palette and also swithFire release date for the new software is estimated to be released this week on Humminbird.Com on certain models.
718, 728, 778c, 788c, 788ci, 798c, 798ci, 1157c, 1197c,
All other models will get update in January when we release Down lmaging and Waypoint Management.
can't wait
