You California crappie guys need to post more, I know you're catching the heck outta them. I was at Travis AFB for two years and couldn't fish enough! Lotsa fish in the Sacramento River sloughs and Clear Lake.
Good job out there. I think the reason there aren't alot more posts is most guys out here only fish during the spawn. I like a challenge so I am trying to learn how to find them year round. Hopefully I can get a break in school and head out this week.
Still wackin em at Cachuma Lake. Fish r movin a little deeper now

@ redy2fish ~ Oh yes we are my friend...............but ya know the thing i hate the most is when you tell a few people about a spot and they totally disrespect the sport. so now i have few honey holes here in sacramento that i only share with real fishermen who have the respect for future generations to come and enjoy this lovely sport we call fishing!! The sloughs around Suisun were always good to me for bass and crappie! Don't worry about elling me your secrets, I left there in 1987 and now live in central Virginia! But, you better watch those local guys, they'll clean your secret places out! Never fised at Mather, but, the golf course there was extremely nice, it was a stop on out NoCal Golf League.

It sucks when people rape lakes. California has many people that keep way to many fish and don't care about the future generations. I learned the hard way this year about sharing spots with people. I only have one phrase. selective harvest
I prefer to eat the red ears anyway, and let the crappies all go. Fish have averaged pound plus for me all year on the crappies.
Exfactor, I agree the red ear are the best. I told Mike that we will have to do a Sac perch outing when the sierras open back up. They are one tasty fish.
