Crappie have begun to move in the piers..the last week or so I've averaged 35- 40 good size fish before 11 am. There have been a few trollers out, but from what I hear not catching many fish. I will post pics later.:D

Was you fishing off the pier(Kamp Karefree) or in boat near the piers? Good job!! Thanks for the post, been wanting to hear a report from Horseshoe!!
How deep were they? Minnows or jigs?
whats the water like since all this rain?
wheres Horseshoe?
Fetmo
I launched at Karefree and fished the piers by the condos. All were caught on black & chart jigs 6-8 feet deep. Also heard today they were catching them good across the lake in the pads. water level is up about a foot from the recent rains.
thanks memphislab,
I appreciate the info.
When looking at the lake, all I see are 3 ramps on the south side is that correct? and is kamp karefree one of those?
Yes, Kampfree is.
Karfree is the closest ramp to where he is fishing. The launch fee there is $7.00, and the ramp at the south end (streiff's) is $5.00 but is about a mile or so from where he is fishing.
what size jig heads?
horseshoe is in eastern crittenden county in Arkansas about 25 miles south of West Memphis on hwy 147
Hudnut, Using black 1/32 jigs.
Thanks for the report.
Its wasnt on for very long......
got there today at daylight, wind moving out of south at a pretty good click but launched anyway.
Launched from Kamp Karefree and went to the south fishing docks w/minnows but only ended up with one small crappie
maybe I'll have better luck next time........
Man r the fish still biting down at Horseshoe? I am trying to get back there and do some fishing in the next month or so.
they wern't today
I'll give it a try this weekend. I don"t mind showing a few spots
Man im glad to hear that , been waiting for em to turn on. This cool weather should light em up.
All I did today was run the docks, then I moved across the lake to the lily pads another dock and some old dock pilings.
It was my first trip, wind blowing stout-hard to control boat against docks and fish too.
I will try again when weather cooperates, but will gladly accept any information on some spots to try
Anybody trolling?
didnt see anyone except myself, one other small boat then a bigger bass boat haulin' across the lake
I was in the small boat. I fished various pier's and depth from
6'-15'. One small crappie. I fished various jig bodies with crappie
nibbles. I belive the peirs will be much better when the water is
about 50F? Water looks great so it should be a good winter season
at the shoe.
Hey white bass, I was in the camo war eagle. That was my first trip to the shoe.
I will probably wait till the water cools a bit and try it again.
keep us updated on the bite over there.
Anybody been in the last couple of days??? Thinking about maybe going in the am.
Went this morning and caught around 40. I'll be back in the am
Anyone trolling? I might be over there in the morning. Have a wedding and reception to go to tonight so don't know how I will feel in the morning!!!  You still catching them on the piers or in the pads?
I caught em in the piers, im trying to post pics but my fille limit exceeds this site. I unable to edit file types on my blackberry.
some clue me in to fishin the "piers"
I did the same, but nothin. maybe the wind & weather that turned them off.......
how did you fish them?
tom
anyone have any pointers for horseshoe?
i'm ready for the fall bite to hit.
Went this morning and didn't do too good. Caught a small mess trolling. Didn't catch one fishing the piers.
I've found that the wind needs to be less than 10 mph in order to stay positioned on the piers. You need to constantly be on the move, and only stop when you catch a bunch of fish. Fish right beside the pilings with either a 'slingshot' or long pole rig. Chartreuse or chartreuse and black have always been my best colors.
Thanks MM for the information
Tom
Caught limit Saturday and 34 today fishing piers.
Nice meeting you today memphislab... My boat is too big to get in there like you do fishing those piers. I ended with 42 and my buddy that you spoke with first had 44. Leave us some to catch this winter!!! :D :D
Nice meeting you and your buddy Crappie123. Its always great meeting cool people! Most of the crappie we caught were a couple feet out in front of the piers. They were not holding tight to cover. I tried fishing the concrete pier and only ended up catching one there. All were caught on red and chart/w black head. For me as the day went on the bite got better!
slab, I sent u a pm:)
