bandit lures
I see a lot of post about trolling Bandit crank baits. I'm getting ready to buy some and want to know what is the most successful color? Why Bandit are there other brands that work as well? How much line do you have behind your boat. Thanks for you input T.M. [/SIZE]

Shad colors seem to work well and anything with chartreuse. The amount of line out depends on how deep the fish are. Most use Bandits because of the color selection and they almost always run true right out of the box.

My favorite colors are Pearl/black back, Chart./black back, Mistake and Pink. 200 and 300 series. This chart will help with setup. Good Luck.

Mad cow work's great for me but am finding out not just bandit's catch fish..

Torch and I have started using a lot of Wally Marshall 300's. The price is better and they do just as good a job. Use a lot of Ole Miss , Black w/ red flake and pinkie toe.:D
-
I like the Walley's also. I like pink, chrome and chart. That should be a good starting point.

Thanks 10fish for the trolling depth chart, that will save me a lot of time and guess work.
I will order some lures and post the results. thanks T.M.

I've had the best luck with "Salad Bar".

Before you buy, shop! There are great prices on EBay at times, also, Cabell's knock off is supposed to be good at a much more reasonable price.

I click on the link and get to Precisionangling web page. Just where do they hide the BANDIT depth chart? I cant seem to find it. thx

Can't alway's depend on the chart. Lots of trial and error. A great deal depends on how high off the water your rod tips are. If you have 150 ft of line out in 17 FOW and they just start bumping bottom then you know the length for your setup for that depth.

No magic color sorry. It's like jigs, the color you don't have is the one they want to eat up lol

LUVPT uses the same system I use to determine how deep mine go. Most of the time, it is as far as I can cast with my 12' rods.
I saw Creekslick's colors this weekend. Looks like I need to invest another couple hundred $$$.

I always start with pink - green-and black and then work my way thru my box. Dark days dark colors - bright days chrome and anything. SOMETIMES. The fish will let you know. Be careful! Pulling cranks can be very addictive!

Im new so take this with a grain of salt. Ive trolled crankbaits about 6 months now. Its addictive and a blast.
Regarding color, In my experience its different lake different color. All those previously listed will all catch fish. You are going to have to figure it out on your own water.
Baits- I troll bandits, wiggle warts, slab hammers, hot n tots, and believe it or not academy h20 model d will also catch crappie at 2.99 a piece just not a lot of colors.
Start slow get you a small variety of baits figure out what works or may work and build from there.
Ive caught my 2 biggest crappie to date trollin crankbaits
