Partner keeps bugging me to do this style of tye – so I did it on a custom jig (he had a mold made of this style). Think it’s about a 1/24th and used VMC #6 regular bend and Matzuo #6 sickle hooks.

Very interesting.... fish haven't seen something like that before! Like the black blade too, have been changing up to some colored blades and have had good results with drk purple. Nice work!!
Nice looking jigs. I made up some handmade billed jigs but I haven't been out to test them yet. I put a bit of a angle on them though like a crankbait has.
They should have a wobble, plus the flash and additional weight from the bill should make it a great jig for deep water. How much do they weigh?Looks like #8 and #6 jig hook. I'd like to try a few of those heads myself.I'm always attracted to new and unique baits. Nice job,led !!
Those are really neat. I like the choice of blades too.
really neat how do they swim or fall .send more info
Very strange looking jigs, but I don't doubt that they will work just fine.

Man sweet jig heads!!!!!!!!! I'm temped to play with the ol Plaster of Paris and try to make some. Still have the old C. Boyd Pffiers book on making plaster molds and really need to give it a try.

Interesting jig. I'd use it. No doubt will dig into the mud/sand on the bottom and look like something good to eat for LP Bluegill and Redears. In the cooler months the trout are going to be a problem! Has JS used this style before? He does like the blades.
Very nice looking jig head. Really like the way it looks like it should balance out well. Tying around that barrel might be a pain though. I wonder if there would be a way to make that blade actually spin for a salmon jig? It may still work if it doesn't though, the flash will get salmon anyway even if it doesn't spin it will still flop around.
Could the barrel swivel be moved forward a little?
those are different looking. the heads remind me of this guy:) http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/v...mb-250x370.gif
LH ... thats different let me know how they do.

The lead head is a “jigalo” knock off. Not sure who was manufacturing it (maybe Normark) - can’t find them anymore so JS had a mold made. We were using this style in the mid 90’s – would take off the 1” curly tail that came with the jig and nose pin a crawler. Use to catch big REs with the rig and spotted bass. Think the bill on the original was pitched at a lower angle.
AF – got a bunch of the hammered OO Colorado’s and plain Colorado blades in the black chrome – haven’t tried them yet, maybe Friday or Saturday.
Jubs – might be tweaking these a little, need to get them wet first…
JJJ – think they are about a 1/24th with #6 hooks – have poured some on #8s. PM your snail mail.
Pup – thought I sent you some of these with the chenille swap.. PM your snail mail if I didn’t...
dd1149 – hope to have a report by Monday.
Fatman – wait till you see what I have Shawn Collins doing……
PB – we used these back in the 90s when JS had the VIP on the lake.
f4A – thnx – not sure how free turning these are going to be. The action might be similar to what Ship is doing with his Danger jig.
“Could the barrel swivel be moved forward a little?” Not really – the swivel is pushed up against the head to tie in. Would have to modify the mold to place the swivel further up. I was combining two different things here – adding the swivel and using a new jig head.
TG – really like that pic and the inspiration - “The Platypus” - thnx.
Thnx G-3
JSC – surprised you didn’t catch the “jigalo” resemblance. Been messing with the Aments – have to post some of those pics…..
interesting jig concept
Man if you got Shawn working on a mold we're all in trouble LOL
Fatman
Hey LedHed, the heck with the jigs how much do you want for the silver dime? Just kidding, those jigs are really sweet, definitely different. How the heck did you get Shawn Collins to make you a mold. Have you gotten the mold yet? I have had some serious issues with lead times among other things. I'll e-mail you and we'll talk.

That one, for some reason, I missed it ...
Which Aments ?? Watching for Pics.

The blade spins easily on a slow retrieve for both styles of jigs (the ones in proto #2). The “phlatapus” wobbles and spins easily – thinking about bending the nose down a bit. Couldn’t tell the spin on the drop – our water isn’t the clearest. Think this style will work really well for the trollers. You can do it to any style jig that you tye. Same concept that Sliders is doing for their plastic jigs.

Went out for a couple of hours this morning before it got too hot. Managed to catch the first fish (~8” BG) with the belly style chub jig. Think the belly spinner is going to work out fine.

Looking for the juristic Bluegill - LOL
