First Date Jigs

Other day I met a pretty girl here at the office and we got to talking. Turns out she has her own shotgun, has passed a hunter's safety course, has been a part of a competitive sailboat crew, used to barrel race horses, and best of all - she likes to fish, particularly for bluegills...so, of course, I asked her out :D:D:D.

My original first date idea was to take her to a dove shoot over Labor Day weekend, but she already has plans to be out of town. So we decided to go to dinner instead this Thursday night. I'm not a big flowers and romance kind of guy. So instead of a bouquet of flowers, I tied up some bluegill jigs for her :cool:. I was thinking if I give her some jigs then I'll have a good reason to invite her to go fishing with me sometime soon.

These are all on 1/32 heads, so they'll work for gills and crappies. I don't use much pink, but I put a pink one in there cause girls like pink. I couldn't get the flash quite right on the camera, so I put up 3 different pics.

Yall think she'll like em?

Yes. But, give her flowers too anyways. It pays to be safe if you're truly liking what you see.

Not sure about the gills, but don't look down on the pink for crappie. I avoided that color for a long time and finally gave in a few years back and they did work very well. Your jigs look great!

The jigs look great and I'm sure she'll like em but get the flowers too LOL, I've learned a few things in 26 years.

Haha! Sounds like you fellas all agree that I need to get some flowers! I just might have to see about some...

Also sounds like I need to add a little pink to my jig arsenal. I don't know why, but I have always ignored pink. I stick to blue, black, purple, and chart mainly. But I'm gonna give pink a fair shot now.

Grub, those are definitley some good things for me to think about :D:D:D! I can tell you though that I am a one women man, and if it's the Lord's Will that we end up getting together, that I would never do anything that could lead to me getting chased down the street by a horse with a shotgun toting mad woman on its back! :D:D;)

Thanks again for ya'll input and suggestions. I certainly do appreciate every bit of it, whether it's about girls or jigs.

Hey Crow, the jigs look geat. Forget "flowers". Early on a single red rose works wonders.

I second the single rose, put the jigs in a small white mesh satchel and attach them to the bud vase, the florist sound have the satchels I think. Nice lookin jigs and enjoy you're date.

:D:D Sorry guys, I was away from my computer on Friday and this weekend so I didn't get a chance to tell about it.

Overall it went pretty good I think. I gave her the jigs and she appeared to be really impressed with them. I handed them to her in a small can and she pulled them out one by one and looked over each of them. She told me that her dad used to own a outdoors store in West Tennessee and that he used to sella lot of plastics and other jigs from his store. She said she had never seen some of my patterns though, so that made me feel good. She asked all about how I made them and I explained how complicated and technical it all it and how it takes a lot of practice, haha :D:cool:. And Grub, she loved the bees!

We went to dinner at a pizza place and hung out there till 1:30 AM. I get up in the morning about 4:30 AM and swim a couple miles before work, so by 1:30 my eyes were rollling back in my head and I took her home. We had some great conversation though. She is truly a cool girl and I'm gonna ask her out again. Next week when we're both back in town from Labor Day stuff we're gonna go rock climbing. She also told me she wants to come deer and duck hunting with me this fall and winter. So we'll see how it all goes. I'm trying to get a big fish fry together at my house in a few weeks and she'll be able to meet my friends at that and I'll see if she gets along with everybody.

Congrats! Sounds like she has the potential of being a keeper! Best of luck to you, nothing better than a lady that can share your interests with you.
