Wanted to make up my own flies that looked as close as possible to tube jigs and go after some small mouth. Added some split shot to #1 & #2 aberdeen wire hooks and mashed away and came up with these.

Tried to cast them with my fly rod... it doesn't have the backbone to throw them without the lure hitting me in the back of my head. OUCH! 2 smacks were enough. So I settled for my ultra light and found them to be killer on smallies. These are untried on crappie, but think they should work as a swimming jig. The hook with 2 splits is about 1/16 oz and single shot around 1/32.
Anyone try this before or any thoughts?
