Jig cureing pan

Take a cake pan and drill a hole in each end. Then bend a clothes hanger to fit. Use long nose pliers to put jigs in and to remove them.

I use old pie pans, line them up around the edge. The eye keeps the side of the head from touching the pan and you can get a whole bunch in one.

You might want to try all thread - keeps the jigs from sliding around.

With this set up you can take the rods out, load them up with jigs, and set it back in the pan. Unloading is real easy also.

Got the cake pan idea from someone else and decided to modify the hangers for easier removal.

Don't be sneakin off!! Hey we all have ways of doing things that have worked for us, and trust me I've changed my ways on a few things that have made things easier based on things I've learned here.

Show what ya got, it will help you on posting pictures and show us what your using for a paint dryin pan.

I have only been at this for a couple of months but I see how ya'll do things and the jigs ya'll make and I feel like an ant trying to join an elephant heard. People say a good painting is a piece of art. I say a good jig is a piece of art. A painter looks at a tree or something and paints it but to make an eye opening jig? Well I quess I don't need to be telling ya'll what it takes. But I will say this, I will keep learning and if this sounds corny then I am sorry. I quess I am just plain addicted. Hey Sloe,I jus started tying in Feb of this year.
I found a lot of way to do things from the guys on the site....its a great bunch here!!!!!
You can also use "U tube" to find ways to tie diffeent patterns.
Main thing is keep trying,,I have had to "Dismantle" a bunch of jigs and start over,,,,,,,but it gits better with time.
This last swap(9) we had,I took apart a few jigs and started over.:eek:
Anyway jus keep on axing questions and sharing ideas thats what really works for all of us:D

I just use some tall cooling racks/spacer shelves I found at Wally world. Lots of space and will handle any size jig. Put them on an old cookie sheet and good to go.

Sloe dont feel like a id we all started somewhere. I wish I could make jigs have as good as alot I see here . But what matters is what the fish think. Tying is very fun and these guys here will help you anyway they can and teh best part is they do it without making you feel dumb. we all have questions so welcome to the board and ask away.

Well now, believe it or not but the 2 jigs I do that I have used the most actually work great. Pink head and body with fl.cart. feathers and pink head and white body with fl.chart. feathers. Also use the fl.chart. maribou and it works also. Neat catching fish on your own jigs !!!!

Just to add to it are 2 shots of racking.

Led Hed got me on to the use of threaded rods (Pix 01)

The old way I did it in the old days with lacquer or Marine Epoxy .. (Pix02)
this strip was set between a couple of 2x4's to dry .. before the days of stick on eyes and we "Dotted" the eyes by laying the strip down and fliping the jigs as shown .. eye them .. let dry .. then flip and do the other side ..
