Looking for a decent camera for the upcoming swap. What kind of cameras are you guys using to take pictures of your jigs. I'm hosting the next swap and want to make sure that everything is top notch. Plan to purchase one this weekend.

I'm looking at the new Pentax Optio WP 80. It's an upgrade from the WP 60. It's more waterproof and shockproof than the previous models.
I have a Sony Cybershot. Not sure of the model numbers, etc... but it does well. Truth be told I really haven't even learned to use all of its functions and settings. Look at the jig pics in my "bluegill/bream jigs" post and see what you think. Like I said, I really don't even fully know how to use the camera, so it's probably capable of taking a better pic than what you see there. Cost was around $250 (I think)
As I see it, you don't need to go for a high priced camera with a ton of stuff you probably won't ever use, unless you know you will use those functions. I've spent alot on one before and never could get it to do everything it was supposed to do. With even the cheaper kodak and others you are still looking at 6 MegaPixels or so which is more than enough for size and quality. As long as it has a Macro function you will be good for jig picts. Biggest thing IMO is to get a small tripod, this will increase the quality of those close-ups alot!
I am using a $60 kodak right now and am happy with the quality of the picts, biggest complaint would be color out-put not quite right, but I just fix that in PhotoShop when I resize. Also does not stabilize well when shooting in Macro so the tripod is a must.
I have a Kodak DX7590. I have had this camera for about three years and I love it. It is 5mp and takes great pictures.It has a lot of functions but is simple to use. For the price you can't beat the Kodak cameras. I also have a Canon Powershot A560. It is a 7.1 mp. It is very easy to use and has a large screen. Not as complicated as the Kodak but takes great pictures. It is also more compact than the Kodak which makes it easier to carry.
I have a Nikon D40x D-SLR (digital SLR aka you change lens does not have a built in lens) but it's a bit over kill if you're just interested in fishing and jig pictures. Nikon makes some nice point and shoots. Check out the Nikon L19 and L20 for lower end but still good quality and depending on your budget there is a little more expensive but offers a greater range of options and abilities there is the Nikon L100.
You're going to want to find something that has a decent macro feature and you will want to get a daylight lamp (6500K bulb temp is closest to actual daylight hence helps keep the colors true) as well to light them properly.
Another thing to help you with close up photography is to look up DIY softbox and try making one of those. This will help to get the jigs lit properly and you shouldn't have to depend on the flash as much or at all depending how you approach it.
Photography is another of my hobbies while I don't know it all or even close to knowing it all I can try to help anyone with photography questions.

I use the Cyber-shot H7 and like it really well, Has all I need with a little over 8 mega pixels and Macro. Also has a lot of Zoom I don't use for my jigs, but who uses a camera just for one thing?

Just get a high pixel camera that has a timer and get a small tripod for it. The key is lighting and lots of it so there is no shadow. Not too bright but from all angles you can get. The tripod will allow for perfect steady pictures and the timer lets you remove your hands so you don't move the camera.

One thing to look for in a small point and shoot is a Macro mode. This allows you to focus on things at a very short distance. One mode is 10" and the other is like 3". This allows you to get very close and fill the frame with your jig and keep all the details nice and sharp.
