Dinner Cruise
I was wondering if anybody has every went on the dinner cruise that the Lake Blackshear resort runs? Does anybody know anything about the cruises?
My wife and I are thinking of going on one maybe this Friday, just something different to do for an evening. I wonder if they will let me put some rod holders out the back and troll while we are waiting for dinner to be served (LOL). I have never fished Blackshear and I have always wanted to so maybe I can do some scouting while we are cruising. If anybody has went on one or has some first hand knowledge it would be appreciated. Thanks, Wes

I have never been on a crusie but I have been on the boat and its nice. I will tell you that it is VERY pricey. The last time I checked it rents for around $700 for 4 hrs and don't think that includes food.
-
May want to check in with them, I don't think they have dinner cruises every weekend.
-
No they don't have a certain time. It is a charter type rental. I am now waiting on a call to get details. Will post them as soon as I get the info.

Thanks everybody for the info. I received an email from the resort offering the dinner cruise. It says they do it every Friday night from 7 to 9 and Saturday afternoon from 1 to 3. You just pay per person but Mr. Rusty is right it is not cheap. They provide a meal and a two hour cruise (this sounds like Gilligan's Island). I was just wondering if anyone had first hand knowledge. My wife says I am easily entertained and I will try anything once, but she likes this kind of stuff and she is looking forward to giving it a try. We are thinking of going Friday night and the Friday night cruise is about 33.50 a person. The menu looks good if it is prepared well. If we go I will post about the cruise, the food and if they let me troll (just kidding). Thanks everybody for the responses, Wes

Thank you for the update Slabby. I was not sur about how they did it.
-
May have to check that out myself, the food in their resturant was certainly good when we had the tournament there.
-
Hey I think that would be something for us to look into for the Slabfest.
-
I will take two folks for a two hour cruise for only $10..00 per person. This includes all you can eat Peanut Butter and Jelly samiches and a coke. For an extra $20.00 we can pull jigs. Reservations Required!!!
-
I will take you up on that Earl especially if your boat has air conditioning. We need to get together and shoot some docks somewhere. I still have never fished Blackshear and I was looking forward to it until I had to drop out of the SlabMaster's tournament in May because of my boat motor messing up. Let me know how to make reservations (LOL).
-
i got next in line. you make the samiches for me while i fish right?
-
Earl, will you take my fish off for me I don't want my custom make P and J samiches to have a fishy smell.
-
before anyone calls any dates, i would like to reserve dec 24/25. my wife says she can afford a guided fishing trip for me for christmas:D... are there any specials at this time?:)
-
Allen, if you go at Christmas, Earl serves home made pumpkin pie and eggnog. He used to dress like Santa until a crappie got caught in his beard:D.

I am now finally getting around to giving my review of the dinner cruise. My wife and I went last Friday night. I made two trips to Cordele in one day woo whooo I am a world traveler. I will post the menu at the bottom of my review. The cruise lasts from 7PM to
9PM. Everything is included in the price unless you want to have alcoholic drinks or Cokes. They have a bar where you may purchase drinks. The cruise leaves from Lake Blackshear resort on their Lady Liberty ship. They also have a lunch cruise on Saturdays that is from 1PM to 3PM. I would not recommend this cruise at all because the AC while we cruised at night would barely keep the temperature comfortable in the dining room. On the afternoon cruise it would be to hot to eat in the dining room. We spent most of our time on the upper deck where the breeze kept us cool and you could watch the sun go down. Most of the people stayed on the top deck some even ate there. The food was good but not great. The service was good but not great. Overall we had a good time and it was fun watching the sunset while cruising the lake. I believe this would be fun to do with a group of people like Rusty was talking about doing for one of the Slabfests at Lake Blackshear. The 33.50 per person price tag might put some people off but everything is included and you may eat as much as want. We had a good time but it is not something we would do several times a summer. Maybe once a year or so. It might be really nice if the leaves were changing on the trees in the fall. All this is just my humble opinion and the menu is below. The menu changes, they have two menus for Friday night cruises and two for Saturday afternoon cruises. Wes
