Greeson May Be Getting Right
The early morning water temps on Greeson are back down in the low 60s and with stable water level yesterday and today the crappie have perked up a bit (along with the bass and bream). I hadn't fished in several days - busy auto and land shopping - so I did a bit of scouting by myself this morning for a trip this afternoon. I found a few here and there that would take a small shiner or rosy red fished from 9 to 15-feet deep and caught a couple on a 1/32-ounce hair jig. My crew showed up about noon and with the few I had in the box from scouting this morning we ended up with a good mess.
One of the gals caught a 14.5-inch black crappie early in the trip and then as we were talking about packing up and heading in she pulled up a fat 15.5-inch white crappie:
It was a beautiful day to be on the water but it looks like the next couple days won't be as nice.
SWEPCO expects to keep generating like they have been for the next two weeks so we'll loose at least another 3-feet if we don't get a bunch of rain.
