The World at my doorstep...

....The Shimano World Shaula ultralight rod that is. Hello folks, it's finally here a long been awaited travel UL rod of the highest quality by Shimano has been delivered since payment posted a mere 3 days ago, thanks to FISHINGshop of Japan who used DHL express included in its free delivery service...an epic speed! Long story short I've been looking for long time for a 4-pc ultralight, NOT Sul, xul (Palms and Abu Mass beat), both of which I also own...and they all good rods but something still missing when holding in hand. I ve thought about cutting and customizing the recently aquired Daiwa Presso Ags Italian Special into 4-piece...lol. Needless to say i don't have to now because just like the Presso, this World Shaula ballances almost perfect, even in its short 5'2" length. This is not a true review but an observation, but I can assure everyone that just like it's sibling the Shimano Soare XR line of rod, the built is impeccable and it's a bonafide true panfish, trout (area and mountain), and all light saltwater game. The action even though designed as fast feel moderate and in this regard i believe the Shaula Technical Edition (ultralight) series of rods will also be awesome for crappies as well protecting light lines. Again just for our forum members curiosity I've included some pictures comparing to the Soare (Ajing) XR 510L-s rod:

Thanks all for looking and chiming in! Notice i haven't really test sensitivity or actual slimming in real world yet, however if CDC members educate me correctly over the years I believe that this 52ul-F/4 @83.5% carbon content won't be as sensitive as it's longer brothers the 62 and 66 rods with 99.3%. I'm not one to complain about millions part per sensitivity difference (if there's such a measurement...lol). I'll definitely find out how this 4-piece "versatile " rod fare among warmer water species.

How to setup one of your travel rods for saltwater fishing ?
Line ? Lures ?

Although it’s been years ; back when my brother and I would make a few trips down to the coast , primarily targeting seatrout and flounder as a bonus catch .
I would use light action or a ML rod with six pound test polymer line with 1/8th oz jigheads .
But on a couple times I would take an UL and drop down to 4# line and 1/16oz jigs and would fish dead low tide in the tidal holes back up in the creeks that we were able to get into .
We fished out of an aluminum Jon boat back in the marsh .
The UL would save the day for me some days , catching grunts and croaker . Sometimes a seatrout would take my 2” curly tails.

I sure miss our trips .
