Ordered a gram scale
I ordered a small scale that reads out in grams to weigh my tungsten jigs I’ve been tying up .
I had a good idea what they weighed but curiosity got me .
I received it this afternoon and had just a few minutes to check a couple of bare jigs and my estimates were right on .
The size 10 Mustad Ultrapoint hook with a 4mm tungsten bead weighs slightly over .5g , slightly more than a 1/64oz jig .
The same hook with a 4.6mm tungsten bead weighs around .85g ( approximately 1/32oz)
I’m going add some different Trout magnet bodies and check them again .
I also have some size 12 and size 10 Mustad streamer hooks with 4.6mm tungsten beads I need to check .
I would like to get a few up to around 1g , but I would probably have to go up in hook size to look right and fit right with a larger tungsten bead .
Pics coming .

I look forward to seeing the pics.

I’m going to need to do this a couple of pictures at a time .
First up is a 4.6mm on a Mustad size 10 jig hook and a mini trout magnet body .
In the next picture , the double , on the left is a Mustad size 10 jig hook with a 4.0mm tungsten bead and a MTM , on the right , a size 12 Mustad streamer hook with a 4.6mm and MTM body .
I use a couple wraps of chenille for several reasons, first it helps secure the bead , it also adds a collar that makes the lure resemble a nymph . It also allows me to use a mini trout magnet body or a shorten regular TM body and be able to place the bend of the hook between the wings of the TM body .
I can also add a contrasting color as in a black collar , with a white or other color TM body . Or an orange collar with a brown TM body to give a crawfish colored image .

And lastly , a 4.6mm bead on a size 10 Mustad jig hook with a shortened regular TM body at 1.06g .
I used the same shortened TM body on each jig to keep the weights as accurate as I could manage .

Nice, I'm always weighing baits. My scale weighs in oz. and grams. Mini jigs do catch big fish. Saved me from getting the skunk many times.

just got me a fresh batch of micro jigs yesterday , them things will often way out perform a big jig , lots less to look over and be finicky about biting can be a good thing :highfive
