So are the dogwoods blooming. I've been seeing a lot of trees that look like them. My neighbors but I never knew if it was a dogwood, he didn't know either lolAttachment 482713

Ive heard that all my life too but when the Bradford Pear trees bloom you better be looking in the shallows. Down here in Ga when the dogwoods bloom the spawn is almost over.
Have always heard that ! I have seen the biggest part of the spawn almost be over when the dog woods actually bloom as already said but not always !
can’t see those trees real good but don’t think they are dog woods look more like pear blooms !
good thing about it is they don’t all go at the same time ! I saw as high as 62° water in the back of some pockets Thursday but the river is still 52-54° of course that’s surface temp! But we have about 2-3 more weeks of cold nights so I don’t thinks is going to happen for a bit ! Just my :twocents
It’s getting close in Ohio then and it’s way early.
I've got two Dogwoods in the back yard, no blooms yet. Usually last week of March, first week of April.
Some Crappie will be spawning before and after the Dogwoods bloom, but if it has white flowers there are always Crappie on the beds!
