Strange
This is strange. Two fish caught from same waters minutes apart and in live well for same time as well (only in live well 10 minutes or so). Any theories as to the coloration?

Pretty feesh but no idea on why.. May need a marine biologist :dono
-
I certainly like the colors on both

Not sure. Depth, tannins in water or genetics my guess :dono

My theory is a local fish vs a lake fish. I caught them both by the state park, clear tannin stained water. and the lake water is dirtier and more algae, essentially not clear. So the greener local fish grew up in clear tannin stained waters, which is the usual color of the fish I catch there. I think the Lake Fish came in for the spawn looking for crappie mamas. and changed colors, darkened up the best he could. But he did not have time to develop the greenery. Just my thought. I only play a biologist on the Internet. :Rofl
