History CAN repeat itself
and sometimes even famously![emoji50] Pull up a chair/fav beverage for the details. Only had a few hours to try and fill Christmas some expectations for my West-Central Atlanta trip. Fresh-frozen filets[Salt or Freshwater species]and Steamed [emoji886] were on my to-do list. Crab traps had been soaking from the previous day. Although the tide phase was NOT really to my advantage, my helmet was buckled-up nonetheless. Started picking up throwback Trout, keeping only two for the cleaning-table. Spoke with a Guide/3 clients and they were having problems with hungry fish. As I was returning to retrieve my traps/ [emoji886], I pulled up to the SPOT that yielded the Sweet SNOOK from previous day. Well, 1st cast, the "tick" [emoji354]? sounded and it was SHOWTIME! When the "surprised" my adversary, my curiosity was confirmed after it surfaced with a head-shaking token of its discontent. After about an ETERNITY, while I was reaching for the net, it came unbuttoned!![emoji850] Yep, don't have to put it in print..you know what I SAID![emoji2959] ESPECIALLY, when the escapee could have bested my PB Snook[39 3/4"]. The 15 # flouro leader wasn’t BROKEN but my heart WAS! The brand new, razor-sharp 2/0 Jighead was even saddened. [emoji91] My VERY NEXT cast sounded the tick [emoji354]?, and as you can imagine- Was this the Same fish?? Well, with no visual confirmation throughout the blistering 50-60 ' drag-peels, although not as jaw-dropping as the "other" thing, I again found the net and slipped it under the 32" Snook. After a thorough investigation., there was NO sign of previous hook dislodgement. MY probable PB is awaiting my return after [emoji319]. I'll keep ya posted. Enjoy the pics and Merry Christmas to the viewers and particularly the "responders"! Swamp buggy was a neighbor's down the street.[emoji86]
Thanks for Ridin',, Readin' & Reelin'
