Go fish...
Seamed like the card game yesterday, drop your line & find a pair.... they're going into stage 2 of the spawn where the bigger males will eat their own fry (1/2"-3/4).... downsized my baits & it was game on. Single poled 50 or better filtering through to mainly keep males. Good fish for Jesup...just look @ the banks to you find them busting the surface chasing fry.....Also found it interesting when coming back to the ramp the soldiers were aligned for battle, the white pelicans to the left & the vultures to the right.....also a pic of how far down these aggressive fish are taking the bait.....tightlines!Attachment 418287Attachment 418288Attachment 418289Attachment 418290

What are you guys hearing about Woodruff, Dexter and the St Johns area on the spawn?
-
WTG wish I was down there with you fishing that spawn. My buddy bymo came up here for some crazy reason or I would be down there. right in the middle of a foot of snow and record LOW temps.
Keep on dipping the pads and whacking them.

Wow, what a fun day. They still haven’t made their final big push to real shallow here catching a lot of fish deep but it won’t be long. Made the mistake of leaving my home area and launched at Astor. Passed a dozen boats heading for Woodruff/Dexter in the dark. Got up to an area I know that has some good deep wood and there’s 5 boats already fishing. Caught a half dozen or so and went looking for some less crowded water everyplace I wanted to stop and fish had a boat parked in it. Came home early

are the vulures and pelicans after the crappie or the shad?
