More pics later. Thank’s to all that helped make it happen, and to all that participated. It was a great event. Great to have gotten together after this virus junk all passed. Weren’t worried at all. Everyone pretty much had their shots.

I have to say thanks to everyone that had a hand in yet another great Slabfest. Jim and Paula made sure that everyone had what was needed, Jeff (speck detector) single handedly supplied the fillets for the day, and he and Doug (Up2Specks)took care of the cooking. Les (Lobsterman) took care of all the ticket related needs. Y’all are the best!! Everything went smooth and there was plenty of food and prizes for raffle. So good to see everyone with a smile and joking with one another. Cant wait for November and hope that another might come around.

Puppies were a big hit. It was good to get them out. They started off being a little anti social. But they learned the routine quick.

Weigh in. Up2 won big fish and a fishing rod. Good job Doug.
Sorry we missed many. We'll catch up next time. Praying some get over health issues.
Great time. Thanks to all who contributed.
Great end of season club finale @ Lake Monroe in Sanford. Even with the periodic Sun vs light rain volley, the wind played no adverse factor in lure presentation. Lucky enough to catch today's winner @13" 1lb 2.2oz on a fresh, hand-tied chenille 1/32(blue/black/yellow) w/marabou tail. Fortunate enough to have seen the positive value of the Slab Sauce "soak" factor on 4 good fish while single-poling on a not-so-easy bite day. Thanks for the tip Ed as conveyed in your earlier post this week! Slab sauce works! Pontoon Pappy and I also enjoyed some success while long-lining too. Plenty of great food and comraderie was enjoyed by all that made plans to enjoy the 'Corona Crap' efest![emoji23] Special thanks for those instrumental in making this our typical day of fun in spite of the almost 16 month health challenge. On a personal side note, Deacon Skeetbum Tim did a heart-warming/ soul-touching, pre-meal blessing extraordinaire! Thanks Deacon[emoji106] November will be here before you know it, make plans to enjoy the next one.

WTG Up2. Hope to make the next Slabfest.
Joan and I had a great time! Looking forward to next fest!
Thanks to everyone who helped make this a great day. It was a family affair with more of the wife's joining in and even some kids and grandkids .
I enjoyed being able to put some faces to some names. Know I'll stand a chance of knowing who you are when we meet on the water.
Here are some more pics from the slab fest:

Can't say it too much, thanks Speck Detector Jeff...this contributing member not only slays the Specks...he catches, cleans, packages, cooks and is generous enough to donate them on many occasions to our fests! My personal propane cooker couldn't maintain it's heat. Probably way too much oil(6 quarts) for it's BTU rating. Jeff cooked ALL the fish! I did stand guard against the hungry marauders until Jeff waved the green flag![emoji38] I did manage to capture a fish pic of big Speck AND the surprise catch of the day. A fish that Pontoon Pappy has NEVER ever seen in Florida! Now, here we have an avid upper aged angler who has personally logged more manhours on Lake Monroe that Fl membership combined! The unseen fish, while I enjoyed the hard fight, was forecasted as a Striper, Gar,Catfish etc. by both Don & myself. Being an ex-Marylander, I easily identified it as a 15"Hardhead Croaker. I've landed hundreds up to 3 lbs. and enjoyed their quality tablefare. Quite the surprise, especially for PP, even for myself as I've only encountered them in Saltwater or brackish.
