I continue to shop in places that will not take anything over a $20 bill. Nobody in the stores have been able to answer me on how they can legally do that. Notice the wording here that can be seen on all money.

Because a lot of the big bills are subject to counterfeit.....and also because a lot of stores do not keep a lot of change in the register....when they get a abundance of paper money in the register they drop a amount of it thru a slot into a floor safe....this is in case of a robbery they won't loose all the money.
A lot of stores now are no cash...credit card only.
Pretty sure it has to do with the coin shortage they say we have.
Well G... that is the only answer in the stores if I even get an answer. BUT counter fitting is illegal but that is not OUR problem. If the government says it is acceptable for me to use it then does 2 crimes make it right? I'm tired of retailers not fighting their own battles just to push it off on us. Counter fitting has been around forever and everyone knows it. So then I ask why did they choose to be a retailer???? You can't just change laws or society to suit yourself. Just find another line of work. Rant is now over and we return you to your scheduled programming.

I have not encountered any store that wouldn't take larger bills. I did go in one that couldn't take it but that was because it was very early in the morning and he didn't have enough cash in the register yet and I didn't have anything smaller. I don't like to carry a lot of small bills as it makes my wallet bulge and hurts my rear. Yeah that's right I'm loaded. In fact I've got enough money to last me the rest of my life. If I don't live past Wednesday.
