COLOR ! I hit a little lake west of town yesterday , the fish there tend to be rather pretty in that tea stained clear water .
Sure enough true to form they were running full spring wardrobes in most cases . The warmouth was outstanding and the male crappie were looking full dress as well . Sure was fun watching the float go away . Some were out a bit deep on one side of the lake and some were right tight to the bank on the other side of the lake. Every fish pulled really hard and a few made me think they either were not crappie and in the case of a few bluegills I thunk they was crappie . :Rofl
hopefully in the next week or 2 I can drag my flat bottom over there and play sunfish king for a day . the attitudes and proximity to the crappie beds on the sunfish indicate its going to be on in just a short window over there .
Best bait was a real small split tail orange with a chart tail on a pink head . Wish I had my little boat and more time but it was alas just a pit stop on the way to work ...you know that four letter word I am sure :yikes
then in the end we have a 6 letter word ….
KABOOM and that's my math lesson for the home schoolers as of today
hope you enjoy the photos and YES I gave a half dozen to a little boy about 5 years old that showed up with his grandma to ketch dinner ….
the rest swam on ...:highfive
