Was thinking of taking my son out tomorrow. I have never fished the lake before any help would be great.

You may want to contact Nick Shafer of Crappie Predator Guide Service (618)472-4763
to find out if they're still in the brush or if they moved out to deeper water. If you don't
want to do that, launch from Wayne Fitzgerrell State Park and try fishing the first bridge
under Rte 154, (The river channel runs under this bridge) and then move parallel to 154
about 15-20ft off the rip-rap. If the wind is up you may want to try the coves of South
Marcum and pitch jigs to downed trees. We had good luck in Gun Creek and it kept
us out of the wind. We fished the coves across from the launch along 154. You can
pick up bait at Lake Zone bait & tackle. We had better luck with 3" minnows rather than
smaller crappie minnows. Best of luck and enjoy your day on the water with your son!
Thanks so much.
