Forgot to say all on minnows. Could not get bit on jig. Water heavily stained to muddy.
Good Job !! I've caught some real Slabs out of Herrington, but just haven't fished there for Crappie for several decades. First "lake" I ever fished, and first place I fished for Crappie.
My other possible choice for over the weekend, thanks for the report. How high up were things there?
Still biting good? Finally gonna get a chance to get away from work. Looked a little muddy around Kings Mill when I drove past.
I miss Herrington -- many good memories.
Sorry had not got back. Water was decent color. They had it pulled down to summer pool.
Gonna go in the morning. I'll give an update tomorrow.
Well, I don't know what happened to them but we got very few crapie bites. Only one caught. We fished every visible piece of timber from Bryants down past Kings Mill. Water was 58 and dingy at Bryants and 62 and decent color around Dunn Island. The wind was absolutely killer at times. Maybe they fed all night last night with the full moon out. I never catch a boat load but usually enough for dinner. :dono
Thanks, JL. I live on the top just above King's Mill and can look down at the lake. Been watching the clarity and levels...looks like this coming week I'll get loose and try it but hoping not to repeat your report. :-)
