Helix question
I have been getting some strange readings on my Helix 9 sonar unit at the front of my boat. From time to time I see two lake bottoms. One at the proper depth and another about twice as deep. Head reports the deeper depth in the info corner. For instance, I am in 12 foot of water. I see the bottom at 12 foot, but I see another bottom at 24 foot, and the readout shoes depth at 24 foot. I adjusted various settings, but none seemed to permanently rectify the problem. Any advice from the group?

Sensativity, I see it from time to time as well. Switch to DI, bet it don't show up there.

That's what I thought. I do not have di on my front unit. I prefer simple sonar when I have hooks in the water. Old fashioned I guess.

Do you have it linked to the back unit, if so you can see DI up front, would be on the back ducer tho.

Yes. It is a G2N. Still learning though. Supposed to be linked with MEGA unit at dash and Ulterra ipilot link up front.

Still, I like the sonar reading of off the US2 transducer up front when I'm up front.

the US2 may be part of the problem, mine crapped out on me.

Hope not. I paid a lot of money for a brand new ulterra. If their US2 is part of the problem, that ticks me off. I may just need to play with sensitivity some more.

Me too but mine is sure crap, temp is way off on it.

Sensitivity is worth a try. Turn it down and see if that doesn't help.
