last 2 days
found them way back in an inlet channel yesterday. minnows and jigs caught them about 2ft down in 6fow. they were stacked in theere thick, so i went back today. lots of dinks with some eaters mixed in, no hogs. 18 keeper size yesterday and 21 today. this sun is really warming the shallows!
i also caught some in deeper water. the bite was very neutral, and mainly on the plastics, worked painlessly slow. i abandoned them for the shallows.

Good report. I tried up river and the water was high, fast, and muddy. Water temp was around 51*. Went back yesterday just to check water level and it was a few inches high than before and just as muddy. I'd guess at least a few more weeks before things clear up and the white bass move up. More rain coming isn't going to help but the cooler temps will keep them in the main lake too.

bunch of rain and cold here too messing things up im sure. take it when we are given it.

Nice job river....Do u ever go out and not catch fish??? Lol
-
yes today! lol
i hit the same place after working. i only had jig and float rod with me though, no minnows. was cold and raining hard, so i tossed on the bibs and fished till my shirt started to get wet. they were off or the weather ran them back out of the shallows. i was shore bound too so search was limited. ill be working up that way next week so ill let it rest till then. ah maybe.
those stories kinda lack the thrill ya know. :biggrin

One day can make such a difference. Found them in 4 fow and hungry Wednesday but Thursday they moved to deeper water and had a bad attitude. Storm drove me off the water before I could make any changes.

i tried for 20min. yesterday, at the "hotspot". 3 lil dinkers is all that bit. the water was up about 6 in from all the rain. it was just starting to get sunny and warm but i didnt have time to wait. im betting the bite turned on later in the afternoon. didnt take minnows just the micro plastic rig i used the other day. ill slide by today, but later in the afternoon this time.

Lol.. boy that is unusual for you not to get bit river. Hopefully the warmer weather will turn them on.

no fire, i find the same temperamental fish everyone else does. when the weather smack us down, it smacks us all. most days when they wont hit my standard presentation i go to another species or just go home. when i was younger i would fish all day trying to make them bite. these days its more about time spent vs fish in the box. i still get smacked down just like everyone else, but i do fish way more than most. :biggrin
