Im going to order a Helix 5 Chirp DI GPS G2 and put it on my trolling motor. I know I need kit AD XTMA 740087-1 to mount the transducer.
Do I need the y cable AS T Y 720075-1 kit for temp and speed or is this built in?

Speed & temp are built-in features, according to the specs. Speed is a GPS function ... temp gauge is in the transducer.
Thanks Pappy, Thats what I thought. So what is this Y cable for? http://www.humminbird.com/Products/AS-T-Y/
It says it is required?????
10-4. I know I didnt need anything like this on my Helix 10. Thanks
Some tournament fishermen (bass mostly) monitor the water temp in their live well ...
And some riverine fishermen use the paddle wheel accessory ...
The AS T Y cable allows one to use the temp built into the stock xducer and the Accessories I noted above ...

Also if your installation is on the TM - you might think about exchanging the stock transom mount DI xducer for either the XTM 9 DI 25 T or the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T ...
Both of these DI xducers are puck housing style for TM application ...and both have extra shielding for possible RFI from the TM application ...
You would need to call HB to set up the exchange before you install the stock xducer and do not open the transom mounting hardware baggie ...

Hey Rickie iv looked at both these transducers and other than 1 saying its wide, whats the difference between these? Sorry if this is a stupid question Im just not that tech savvy. I think I will upgrade, which one is best? Its going on a 2016 Minn Kota V2 Power Drive 70 for a Helix 5 Chirp DI GPS G2
XTM 9 DI 25 T is 200kHz 28°/455kHz 16° 2d cone shaped beams and 455kHz 75°/800kHz 45° DI fan shaped beams = Better 2d target separation ...
XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T is 200kHz 20°/83kHz 60° 2d cone shaped beams and 455kHz 75°/800kHz 45° DI fan shaped beams = More 2d coverage ...
Most choose the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T for its wider 2d coverage in helping keep a brush pile in the wider 2d cone ...
-----
Note : check the "Connected Transducer" "Menu" under the Sonar tab to make sure there is an option for "DI 83/200" before you decide on the XTM 9 WIDE DI 20 T ... I'm pretty sure your 5 DI has that option ...
