LOL, glad I could bring back memories. I'm trying to find fatheads for my pond actually. After this drought and so many pond drying up, I was worried about mine. I should be good to go as I still have about 5 or so feet of water in the deep end. I'm putting in 1000 Copper nose Bream. Guy said he mixes in about 15% redear in his ponds because they eat bacteria, so I should have about 15% redear when I get them. Not to bad, $200 for 1000 4-5 inch bream. I want the fatheads in there so next year when I add the Bass, I'll have plenty of forage for them
I order my fish and my fathead minnows from the local farm feed store....fish truck runs once a month.....i have 5 ponds on my place.

DD, need to check into some pond management stuff from MDWFP. I used to be a member at a highly managed "bass ranch" and was really surprised at some of the practices they had in place. They put in some kind of shad each spring that would die off in the winter, what was left, it kept the shad from over populating. They also pulled the water down in the winter to control moss and other water vegetation in the shallows.
I've checked with 2 so far and they didn't have any fatheads. I'll keep looking.
I already have. I went to a 3 hour seminar on farm pond management here a couple months ago. They talked about how to keep the pond balanced as far as fish population, fertilizing, things like that. I also down loaded the booklet they have out about ponds. Some good readingQuote:
