HI guys and gals hope everyone has great and blessed holidays .I am planning on trying some new lakes and have been looking at Cumberland lake and was wondering if any one had some tips to get me started never been on that body of water but they are catchin some nice ones so I hear any help or advice is greatly appreciated may God bless:pray
All I know is .... fish the standing timber back in the creeks.

Was on Cumberland Friday bass and striper fishing. We caught about 8 monster crappie biggest 2.15 lb. Caught them on bass jerk baits that only run about 2 to 3 feet deep about halfway back in major creeks on rocky steep points. We had two keeper stripers and a lot of spots. so that's where the big ones are hiding.
heads of the creeks have lots of small fish holding at about 2.5 ft
Cumberland is a new Lake now with all the cover
Stripers are way up in the heads of the Creeks, if the shad are there so are the Stripers

Fished all week before thanksgiving and the lake was way down. Was in the Burnside area. Fished both rivers and pittman creek without much to show for it. Used live shad and minnows. They were dropping the lake like crazy at the time. I plan on going back the week after Christmas to give the stripers a try again

Last Friday I caught some nice crappie in the Beaver Creek area about 2 ft deep around trees. Ended up with 17 but didn't really find them until lunch. Spent most of the day fishing way to deep on slides and logs. Most of the fish I caught in deep water (15 to 30 ft) were small. I was using minnows.
