Jet boats are really neat. But they got so popular on Ozark streams people are having wrecks and running over people. It is pretty neat to go about anywhere. Sometimes though when there is trash on the water like leaves and stuff they can get plugged and loose sandy dirt can get sucked up and damage them. Come to the Southern Ozarks they are sitting all around the side of the road for sale. Most are small to mid size jons but you will see some pretty wild ones too. If you want to try a smaller one to get your feet wet so to speak it is a good place to pickup a good used one.
That river trip lit a fire I see. Aaaahhhhhh, that new boat smell.
Buddy of mine has G3 tunnel hull 18' Jon with a 80 Yamaha jet and uses it on local river as much has can, fishing for smallness and lg mouth bass, and in the fall, with leaves falling just plane as to park it. His is 80 hp and a gas hog plus way less power than a prop driven 80 hp outboard. Not for Indiana in my book.
Where's the rod holders!!
Awe heck....we ran through a stretch 2" deep today. These things are incredible, I was running a predator by Seaark.
Aaaaaahhhhhhh, the thrill/excitement of boat fever and that new boat smell
I think the chiropractor's union is a big advocate for those things.:biggrin
No jumping for me, I just like the shallow running and ability to explore new territory on the fly. This thing is an adrenaline rush. Skinny waters are no problem.
