Is this what your talking about
I run trolling motor on it's own battery / batteries . all other on one cranking, depth finders, lights .
My front depth finder wires won't reach my cranking battery in the back
When mine does that, the charge in the battery is low. Like eagle 1 said, it should be on it's own battery.
Here is what you need to do if you want it fixed right. Get you enough 12 gauge wire in black and red to run from battery in back to the front. Get you a blade type rubber fuse holder with the water tight cap ( should find one at auto zone) put ring eye on one leg of fuse holder that will go on battery then connect other side to red wire by soldering and heat shrinking or good butt connector crimped and sealed. Put ring eye to fit battery on ground lead tie those 2 together with tape or something. Give your self enough slack between the 2 so they can hook to battery, then hand over hand twist those 2 wires together loosely all the way up close to the other end. Tape those together in one spot just to keep them together. Then run them through the boat to where you need them, connect red to red and black to black and seal. Then hook to battery. You should have no interference after that.
Good advice above. If you should happen to have interference after that, there are further steps to take, but the first thing you need to do has already been mentioned above. There is some great reading on the humminbird site about this.

I replaced all the 12 gauge wire with 10 and 8 gauge.
